The family had arrived on the island a few days prior to enjoy some winter sunshine. How their big glamorous New Year celebrations had changed, and now Johnny and his wife were just more than happy for the family to be together in one place. Lily-Rose and Jack had flown in from Paris to spend a few days before heading back to LA where they had a long list of exclusive party invitations waiting.

The youngest Depp, Teddy, who was 18 months old hadn't taken much to the jet lag and luckily like his father who also didn't sleep well they had both woken just before sunrise. Determined to allow his wife some respite after she hosted their entire immediate family for Christmas in London only days prior, he had snuck out to the beach with his baby boy and was keeping him occupied and quiet.

"Teddy, buddy, over here. Look at that bird." Johnny said as he was kneeling on the sand with his youngest son closeby. "Birdie." Teddy repeated to his father and began flapping his arms mimicking the action of the animal. The father was bemused, he had no idea why time was flying by, how had it been over ten years since he had met his wonderful wife? Almost 9 years since they had married? 7 and a half since they had welcomed their sassy daughter Lottie? Time was a cruel mistress flying by without an ounce of regret, and Johnny was determined since welcoming their last child that he wanted to take a step back from working and being in the public eye to enjoy every second of his family. One of the many perks of being who he was, was the fortunate and resources that came with enabling him to live a semi retired life. Holly would do anything he asked and then some, be by his side on one of the most prestigious red carpets in the world one day, or getting mucky in the garden with their children the next. She really was an Angel. Johnny's thoughts were disrupted by a squeal, and as he snapped his attention back to his youngest he saw the daredevil toddler waddling to the surf with a hearty chuckle. "Ted..." Johnny said clambering to his feet. His trademark island bandana round his head and his beach shorts low on his hips were the only items of clothing he had donned so far. "I'm gonna get ya.." Johnny said as he caught up with the little boy, and scoped him into his muscular arms throwing him in the air, earning more giggles from the little tyke.

After an hour or two of watching the sun rise fully, Johnny whispered to his little boy. "Shall we make a surprise for Mumma?" Teddy who was always swooning after his mother, didn't need much persuading as he nodded with a smile. "Sissy, help? Lottie help?" He asked before Johnny thought for a second. "Nah I think we've got this on our own. Just us." He said proudly before stubbing out his cigarette in a nearby ash tray on a table. "Dada!!" Teddy cheered. The child had soon learnt that when his father's hands didn't occupy a trademark cigarette, he was free to be held by them and he adored it, much to his two elder sister's disgust who equally always wanted a slice of the Daddy pie despite their growing independence.

Johnny's culinary skills had fast improved since meeting Holly, always wanting to help and assist her, he had soon picked up the basics and he relished in these moments where he could ease her burden. She was always determined they live as simply as possible, with minimal staff to help with the house or children no matter where in the world they were. She claimed she was "old school" like that, and it was her job as wife and mother to take care of them all. That didn't always go to plan but Johnny enjoyed watching her thrive, of course the help of Hilda at Sweetzer and a housekeeper in London helped a lot.

Soon the father and son had managed to make coffee just as Holly liked it, prepped some pastries and cut some fruit without a single mishap. Johnny was super proud after laying the table and quickly got Ted cleaned up the best he could before whispering to go wake his siblings. The youngest took great pride in charging off through the beach house waking his four elder siblings. Johnny took this moment to slip into the master bedroom where his wife, although make up free and still asleep took his breath away, she was asleep on Johnny's pillow, her hand splayed out as if at one point she may have reached out to him only to find the spot vacant. He slowly sat down on the edge of the bed, gently tucking her brunette tresses behind her ear and whispering sweet nothings to her, until she arose.

"Good morning sweetheart." He said quietly. "Morning Johnny." She said sleepily, he knew the long days travelling, keeping the children occupied and the jet lag was getting to her. "What time is it?" She asked slowly rubbing her face and sitting up. "Time for a beach front breakfast with our darling cherubs." Johnny smirked pulling her silk robe from where it has been carelessly thrown across the end of the bed the night prior and placing it around her. She smiled before leaning into kiss her husband. "Now that is a date I don't want to miss." She said with a smile before being led out the bedroom by his strong ring clad hand.

"Morning Mumma!!" Pippa squealed from her spot at the table. "Good morning Hols.. Dad." Lily said with a beaming smile. "Morning my darlings." Holly said wandering round to the two vacant chairs stopping at each child and kissing their heads. "Did you do this?" She said stopping to stare at her husband. "I had some help." He shrugged before looking at Ted who had the remains of some watermelon juice around his mouth. "Daddy Ted Breakfast!!!" He yelled out before shoving a pastry into his mouth. "He's all you." Holly smirked leaning into her husband.
