Inspired by tonight's England v The Netherlands Euros 2024 semi final and honouring Holly's English roots. 🏴
"Calm down!!" Holly giggled as her little boy ran holding a football from the garden into the large kitchen past her, her mother and his Aunts. "Uncle Ben said I'm the best penalty taker ever!!!" Teddy announced loudly making Stephen smirk. "Oh did he now?! Gonna play for Everton when you're older are you kid?" Stephan responded as he scooped the 5 year old up onto his hip. "No chance!! Arsenal all the way right Ted?!" His maternal grandfather said from the sofa in the sitting room. "Maybe we should let him finish his education before filling his mind with football antics." His grandmother said proudly. "It def comes from your side though Hols. J can't kick a ball to save his life." "Oi I resent that accusation G! I'll have you know, Ted has taken a keen interest in this Euros competition and we've been in that garden a shed load having a kick about." Johnny said taking his son from his close mate. "Go easy boy.. you're already hot and bothered." "Yeah just don't mention the broken summer house window hey Ted?" Jack smirked as he sipped from his beer bottle. "What time is kick off?" Lily Rose asked. "8pm darling." Holly said placing more snacks on the kitchen island. "Ahh good I've got time to call Timothee before hand them." She said skipping off making her father roll his eyes. "Darling leave her be!" Holly said noticing her husband's reaction. "You've got two other daughters over there who are a long way off dating." Johnny smiled before kissing his wife and running his finger down her England jersey. "It's cute that your Dad got us all shirts. I know the big Pickles are very excited baring in mind France were knocked out." Holly smiled and twirled in hers. On the back hers had Depp and the number 2.
"I hope we win!!!!" Pippa said proudly sat on the couch besides Gina. "Me too.. baring in mind I've let you stay up late for this." Holly smirked into her wine. "Daddy.." "Yes Ted.." "What national anthem do I sing?" The adults in the room smirked. "How do you mean son?" "Well today I'm English because I want ENG-ER-LAND to win, but sometimes I'm American too aren't I? And Lily and Jack are France." "French." Holly corrected her son. "You sing the anthem of the nation that's playing bud. So today it's God Save The King." "Ok.." he skipped off happily and stood right in front of the Tv screen in his full England kit. "He's my little football hooligan." Holly gushed. "Nothing your brothers didn't do sweetie. He loves it, it's nice." Her mother said making Johnny smile. "Yes he could be into a lot of things, but I am so glad he's following in the Walton footsteps." Johnny said proudly. "What setting ourselves up every few years for the biggest disappointment ever?" Adam smirked. "Something like that." Johnny chuckled. "Guys... IT IS COMING HOME!!!" Stephen cheered resulting in all the kids laughing and cheering. "Yes it is Uncle Steve isn't it?" Holly joined in before Lottie began singing the national anthem at the top of her lungs with her hand on her heart.
"Yes indeed.. it really may well come home." Johnny smirked.
