Phone Call

The words of mom were on a loop in my mind.
And she was talking about everyone but my mind wasn't listening to any of it.
I was brought back to the present by the ringtone of my phone.
The call was from Aarav I saw the caller ID and was not sure whether should I pick it up or not.
Mom also saw the ID and she took the phone from my hands attended the call and put it on speaker.
She asked about his health and how he was doing and he replied that he was fine and asked her about her health.
Then he asked her about me and said he wanted to talk to me.
She said the phone was on speaker and he could convey his thoughts.
He called my name and I didn't answer and after a few seconds, he continued.
I know you don't wanna talk to me and u are angry at me for some reason and I don't know exactly what it is.
But it's okay I will talk now and u don't have to answer but just listen to what I have to.
I stayed silent and he continued saying I know you didn't like the ring, I found out as I was checking the comments of your post that the ring was supposed to be given to you by someone else and not me.
I understand that this ring would have brought back painful memories for you and if u don't want it you can dispose of it and or even sell it. I'm fine with whatever you want.
I am really sorry for hurting you and I thought this gift would be compensation as I'm not next to you but I didn't know that it would hurt you.
Anyway, take care of yourself I coming back soon and will sort all these out in person till then I am fine if u don't wanna talk to me.
There was complete silence for a few seconds and he said that he would cut the call now.
Immediately I took the phone from Mom's hand removed the speaker said don't cut and said the gift he had given me wasn't his fault. It was a very thoughtful gift as I love rings.
And I told him I would love to keep this ring and I won't give it away as if was a gift to me by him and it will always be special.
He stayed silent and I continued saying that I may not immediately start wearing the ring but soon I will wear the ring and till then the ring will be with me I told him that I was waiting for him to come back so that I could spend a lot of time with him.
I also told him that he had to be here till our anniversary as it was our first anniversary.
And not leave early just after coming here.
He replied to that saying yes dear I will stay with you as long as I want him to be with him 🤩🤩❤️.
