Next day
Saachi had always considered herself a master of disguising her feelings.
But as she stood in front of Aadvik's house on a bright Saturday morning, her heart thumped louder than the upbeat music blaring from her earphones.
Today was the day—she and Aadvik were going on a location hunt again for her best friend Maaya.
It was the perfect excuse to spend time with Aadvik, her not-so-secret crush.
Little did she know, the day would turn into an adventure filled with more than just breathtaking landscapes.
The door swung open, and there he was—Aadvik, in his signature casual style, with a grin that could light up a solar panel.
"Ready to go?" he asked, holding up a map with so many red circles it looked like it had chickenpox.
"Absolutely," Saachi replied, trying to match his enthusiasm while discreetly checking if her hair was behaving.
She hoped her flushed cheeks weren't betraying her.
Their first stop for the day was the old Sunflower Fields, a place that looked like it was ripped straight out of a fairytale.
Sunflowers taller than Aadvik seemed to bow as they walked through, making them feel like royalty. They joked about how the sunflower heads followed Aadvik because he was, quite literally, the sunshine in everyone's life.
Saachi tried to focus on finding the perfect anniversary spot, but her mind kept drifting to how every moment with Aadvik felt like one giant, wonderful distraction.
"Imagine Maaya and Aarav dancing here," and them getting married here Aadvik said, spinning around in dramatic circles, almost knocking over a sunflower.
Saachi laughed, snapping pictures of him being silly. She couldn’t help but think how she'd love to see him spin around like that, just for her someday.
Next, they drove to the nearby Whispering Woods. The place had an air of mystery, with sunlight fighting its way through the dense canopy above.
Aadvik started talking about the legend of some ghostly couple who supposedly haunted these woods, making Saachi laugh and momentarily forget her inner turmoil.
Their final destination was the Serenity Lake, a tranquil spot that lay hidden behind a curtain of willow trees. As they approached, the lake's mirror-like surface reflected the sky, creating an illusion of infinity. Aadvik stepped closer to the edge, skipping stones that seemed to glide forever before sinking.
"Perfect," Saachi muttered, more to herself than anyone else.
"Yeah, Maaya and Aarav will love it here," Aadvik said, turning to her with that ever-present smile.
But before she could respond, a gust of wind picked up, sending a flurry of cherry blossoms into the air.
And just like in those cheesy romance movies, a petal landed on Saachi's lips.
Aadvik laughed, gently brushing it away.
As they packed up and headed back, Saachi's heart felt lighter than ever.
The day had been a whirlwind of laughter, scenic beauty, and fleeting touches that sent shivers down her spine.
They had found the perfect spot for Maaya and Aarav's anniversary with all the extra criteria that was added upon to her list, but Saachi had discovered something even more precious.
She realized that in every jest, every smile, and every shared silence, there was a message—one that turned her hope into a growing belief.
And with that belief, she knew the best part of her journey with Aadvik was still unwritten.
After all, the most beautiful stories are those that unfold one petal at a time.
When she returned back to her bed that night all she could think was the time she spent with Aadvik the last couple of days.
