Saachi pov

The doctor advised us to give nahar some rest and also his memory might come back within hours or some days too.

But he also said it may take longer than that too.

Hearing everything maaya was the one who was hurt a lot.

One side of her love was hanging on a thread in the operation theatre and the other side her best friend, her brother has no memory.

She was totally broken, she was trying to process everything and trying to be strong and handle everything with atmost maturity but I knew she was breaking from inside.

She was just trying to be strong from outside.

Aarav fighting for his life and nahar with no memory, she had too many questions but no answers.

We didn't have any updates on the status of Aarav's case, we knew his condition was critical and he had his spinal cord broken.

But I couldn't see maaya in the verge of breakdown.

She was giving hope to everyone and you that nothing will happen to anyone.

Everyone will be fine. But nothing was fine here.

She was stuck in between the both.

The doctors were done with the operation and explained that Aarav is still in critical condition, and Maaya feels a surge of helplessness.

The doctors even said that the survival chances are very low.

Maaya kept visiting Aarav in the ICU, where she confronts the stark reality of his condition.

She wasn't able to get a hold of herself when the doctors explained the condition of Aarav's.

But the one thing which was disturbing me a lot was, how to explain all of these to Sam.

She will break if she hears that Nahar has no memory of hers or the one guy whom she is very comfortable with is in ICU in a critical condition.
I don't see her coming out of any of these.

Finally Sam woke up along the sound of beeping machines surrounding her.

She tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness slammed into her, forcing her back against the pillow.

"Sam! You're awake!" A maaya rushed to her side, concern etched on her face.

"You fainted, but you're going to be alright."

"Where's Nahar?" Sam's voice cracked, panic welling within her.

We hesitated, her eyes darting away.

"He... he was in an accident. He's in the ICU."
"An accident?" Sam echoed, her heart plummeting. She struggled to sit up again, but the nurse gently pressed her back down.

"You need to rest. I'll get the doctor."
As the nurse hurried away, Sam's mind raced.

What if something happened to him?

Meanwhile

Nahar sat in another room, confusion swirling like a storm inside him. The doctor had just left, and nurse was trying to explain what had happened.

"Nahar, you need to understand," Aadvik said, urgency in his voice. "You were in an accident after you left the resort. You don't remember Sam, do you?"

Nahar frowned, frustration boiling within him. "I remember college, but... I can't picture her. Who is she?", and how do I know you?.

"You don't remember?" Aadvik pressed, panic creeping into his voice.

Nahar shook his head, his brow furrowing. "I... I can't remember...

"She's the girl you love! You proposed to her!"

Nahar's brow furrowed deeper. "I... proposed? Why can't I remember?"

"You hit your head pretty hard. It's possible you have amnesia," Aadvik said, his voice thick with concern.

"We need to get you to her. You need to see her."

Nahar nodded slowly, but doubt gnawed at him. What if he didn't feel anything for her?

Back in Sam's room, she paced restlessly, the beeping monitors a constant reminder of her vulnerability.

She needed to see Nahar.
"Nurse!" Maaya , she called, desperation creeping into her voice.

The nurse returned, her expression softening. "Yes,?"

"I need to see Nahar. Please. I can't just sit here."

After a brief moment of hesitation, the nurse nodded. "Alright, I'll see if the doctor will allow it. Just be careful; he's still recovering from the accident."

When Sam finally entered Nahar's room, the sight of him lying there, bandaged and pale, made her heart ache.
"Nahar?" she whispered, moving closer, her breath hitching.

He turned his head slightly, confusion crossing his features. "Who are you?"
Sam's heart shattered. "It's me, Sam. Your... your fiance."

He stared at her, an unreadable expression on his face. "I don't remember you."

The silence stretched between them, heavy and suffocating.
"How can you not remember?" Sam's voice trembled. "We... we were going to get married."

Nahar's brow furrowed, the gears in his mind visibly turning. "Married? I don't... I can't remember anything after college." He looked away, anguish flooding his features.

"I'm so sorry."
Tears blurred Sam's vision. "Nahar, please.

We can work through this. We can make you get back your memory, maaaya tell him ."

He looked back at her, uncertainty flickering in his eyes. "But what if I don't remember you anymore? What if I've forgotten everything?"

The question hung in the air like a storm cloud, dark and foreboding. Sam's heart raced as she tried to form the words.

"You haven't forgotten everything. You just need time."

"But what if time doesn't bring it back?" Nahar's voice was quiet, filled with a vulnerability that made Sam ache for him.
