JAEDON'S POV
MABILIS kaming nakatakas ni Quinn kay Stain, unexpected di nya ako hinabol. He was always worried to this girl baka ano pa daw ang gagawin ko dito. I'm trying to hold back, she's young. Pero minsan talaga nanggagago talaga yung alaga ko, can't deny, I'm a guy. According to some research mas active ang lalaki eh, ang hirap minsan. But I respect her, if she want it— I can give it.
"Jae, san tayo?" Tanong nya sakin habang nakatingin sa labas. I secretly smiled when she asked me with her soft tone.
"Somewhere." Sagot ko sa kanya at pasimpleng tinitigan sya.
Her brows almost collide, "Saang somewhere yan? Baka impyerno yan ah!" sambit pa nya. I chuckled.
"Don't worry, I brought snacks."
Agad naman syang ngumiti nang marinig ang salitang snacks. She has fast metabolism kaya kahit anong kain nya di rin sya tataba.
Maya maya ay nakarating na kami sa parking lot ng Derucio. Agad naman kaming bumaba at halatang nagtataka sya.
"Sa parking lot tayo?" Kunot noong tanong pa nya at agad kong tinuro ang mataas na hagdan— hagdan para sa top city view.
"Want me to carry you?" Tanong ko sa kanya at agad syang umiling. Halatang nahihiya sya. I grabbed her hands at naglakad na kami paakyat sa hagdan. There's a dead silence between us pero hindi ito nakakaboring, it was calming. Pagdating sa taas ay may nakita kaming bench, just in time sa city lights.
"Do you like this place?" Tanong ko pa sa kanya, baka mabored sya at mawalan ng gana.
"Yes, I love it." By her response, my heart feels so light and I can't help myself to smile. She didn't respond 'like' but she responds 'love'.
Even though it's just a small thing, it really makes me happy. Kahit sino naman sigurong lalaki ang makakaramdam ng ligaya pag sinagot ng ganun. We, men, love to be appreciated especially when we rarely get compliments. Just kidding, some men I mean— I have been showering with compliments ever since I was born. But the compliment from the girl you love hits different.
"Thank you." Dagdag pa nya. I looked at her happy face enjoying the view. I want to give her everything.
"You're welcome. Kung gusto mo, anytime pwede tayong pumunta dito." Sagot ko pa sabay lagay ng siko ko sa rails.
"Really?" Her reaction shows excitement. I love that. I feel something weird in my heart, I can't stop myself from smiling.
"Yes." Nakangiting sagot ko sa kanya nang magbago ang expression nya, I'm a bit disappointed. I was wondering why she stopped smiling, maybe she was bored? Or am I just boring to talk with?
"But Jae, college kana and busy ka..." She pouted, she's really cute.
"It doesn't matter whether I'm in college or not. I love every moment with you and I'm willing to give time for you." diretso kong sagot. Not gonna lie, I want to treat her the best. I want to treat her with the things she deserves.
"Is it really okay?"
"Yes." Sagot ko sabay pat ng head nya. She's literally a mean girl in her school but she's my baby after school.
"Jae!" sambit pa nya sabay hampas sa braso ko. She was pointing something. Agad naman akong tumingin sa tinuturo nya— it was a stunning fireworks that enhanced the beauty of city lights.
"Ang ganda!" I looked at her. She's enjoying it. Ito ba yung sinasabi nila na kapag umiibig ka parang humihinto ang oras at ang mga bagay sa paligid nyo?
"Yes, it is." I smiled while watching her amazement.
"It is pretty just like you." I said. She tilted her head, she was blushing. Damn, she's too adorable!
"Baliw! Wag mo nga akong biruin." namumulang sambit nya.
"I am indeed crazy, and I'm not joking." seryosong sagot ko sa kanya. Her lips formed a line and she started fidgeting her hands. Was she uncomfortable with me?
"Are you...uncomfortable?" alalang tanong ko sa kanya. She slowly tilted her head and gently looked into my eyes.
"I'm not...I'm just happy." nakangiting sagot nya sakin. I sighed secretly, bat di ko naisip na ganito pala sya lagi. It's her mannerism.
"By the way, kailan ang graduation mo?" Tanong ko pa sa kanya and she shrugged.
"Wala pang update, but I'll be in college soon." Sagot nya.
"Which school?" Pagkatanong ko ay agad syang ngumiti.
"Your school." Nakangiting sagot nya. I can't help myself to smile, parang may kung anong bagay na kinikiliti ako para ngumiti.
"South Carolina huh..." I smirked.
"What profession?" Tanong ko and she sighed.
"Magjoke nalang kaya ako sa college? Total mayaman naman pamilya ko di naman kami mauubusan ng pera." She pouted. Ahh... Those pouty lips, parang gusto ko tuloy halikan. But no, di ko sya pwedeng sanayin sa mga bagay na to. Bata pa sya, even though she's already in legal age it doesn't mean I'll take it as an advantage para gawin yung mga malalaswang bagay. Kaya ko pa naman.
"Mag educ kaya ako?" Sambit pa nya.
"Pwede..." Sagot ko sa kanya and she smiled happily.
"Wait!" Sambit pa nya at kumuha ng dalawang dahon. Isang lanta at isang green na dahon ang kinuha nya. Agad naman syang tumakbo at lumapit sakin.
She showed me the two leaves,"You choose." Sambit nya.
"This one, or this one?" Diko alam pero pinili ko yung old leaf yung lanta na.
"Okay, BEED!" sambit pa nya. I was surprised kaya napatingin ako sa kanya.
"You're kidding me?" Tanong ko pa at napatingin syang nagtataka sa reaksyon ko.
"You just can't choose a course just because I choose that leaf." Alalang sagot ko at ngumiti sya.
"It doesn't matter, BEEd is a course for students to become future elementary teachers focused on teaching from the beginning of learning to young people. They are the key to how we learned to write, read and understand things. Being a teacher is a noble profession that should not be underestimated. But of course I can't think of a course to take, I'll probably take BEED. I admire those who belong in that course... "Sambit nya, ahhh it makes my heart flatter.
"Sure... I'll give you my support." Sambit ko sabay hila sa kanya papalapit at niyakap sya mula sa likod. I lay my head on her shoulders.
"Kahit anong kurso pa ang kukunin mo Quinn, I'll support you..." Bulong ko sa kanya habang nakayakap sa mga beywang nya. She touched my hands and caress the back of my palm.
"Thank you... Jae"
