Selene's POV
All the riders and myself were at Defender's Island. Mala sent a Terror Mail saying she and Throk were attacked at the Northern Market. "So, this hooded stranger, he risked his own life to save you?" Hiccup asked Mala. "If it weren't for him, who knows what would've happened," Mala spoke as she scratched Toothless's head. "And how long have you bought weapons from this island?" I asked Mala. "For many years." Heather then came over and told us how that island was always a safe place to trade goods. "Heather, Selene, we should go see what those Hunters are up to. Thank you for filling us in, Mala. It was good that you sent for us," Hiccup told the woman. "Actually, the reason Mala summoned you kids here was for a different reason." A familiar voice spoke and in came dad on Sinha. "Dad," I smiled and ran over to hug him as he got off his dragon. "Good to see you too, kiddo." The twins then came running out of the bushes, panting with excitement. Tuffnut tried complimenting Mala, but just received a glare instead. "This may be the best day ever," Ruffnut cheered, and Tuff corrected saying it is the greatest day ever. But Tuffnut being Tuffnut trailed off to other great moments in his life. "What is this news guys?" I asked them, already getting irritated. "The village is setting up for some big, crazy-looking to-do," Tuff revealed. "And what is it?" Lillian asked as she came over and hugged dad too. "We asked a couple of the natives, 'way juts the deal?' And do you know what they said?" Ruffnut asked. "Probably something like, 'it's none of your business.'" Hiccup spoke and I just chuckled. Apparently, many of the villagers said that, but they revealed it was for the Trials. "I assume the Trials are what you invited us here for Mala?" I asked the queen and she nodded her head. "Yup. It's a series of test to choose a new king. They involve lots of dangerous things like, fire, venomous and poisonous reptiles, and more," dad replied and Mala smiled at him. "Okay, Mala, who is the sucker?" Tuffnut asked and Snotlout came running out of the bushes claiming that we needed to leave, then saw Mala and dad.

Snotlout immediately started flirting with Mala. "What does she see in him?" Crystal asked me and I just shrugged my shoulders. Hiccup then walked forward. "Mala, would you please excuse us?" Hiccup kindly asked her. "Of course," Mala then walked off. Dad joined her and the two began talking about the Hunters. "I'm not swimming across some lava pool just so I can become a king," Snotlout protested. Tuffnut then spoke that it isn't a lava pool anymore. Snotlout was relieved until Tuffnut started ranting that Snotlout could never survive what the Defenders have planned for the Trials. That got Snotlout riled up, especially after Ruff said that she and her twin did the 'calculations' and that there is no chance Snotlout would survive this. "All right, that's it! We're staying. You all better start practicing your bow. 'Cause you're looking at the future king, baby," Snotlout bragged and walked off. "All right. Heather, Selene and I have to go check on something in the Northern Markets. I need the rest of you to stay here and help Astrid and Lillian make sure Snotlout doesn't get himself killed," Hiccup told us. Heather, Hiccup and I got on our dragons and took off to the Northern Markets.

When we got there, we changed into the Defenders clothes that Mala lent us. "Not bad," Toothless cooed to Crystal and Windshear. "Perfect. No one'll know it's you," Heather told us. "I think I should stay here with the dragons and watch you guys from here. I still haven't figured out how to hide my wings and tails yet," I told Heather as I gestured to my dragon appendages. Hiccup and Heather started to walk off, but Toothless wanted to follow his best friend. "No, bud. Two strangers with hoods is one thing. But two strangers with hoods and a Night Fury and a Light Fury along with a Razorwhip, and a member of the Dracia clan, that might not be so stealthy," Hiccup told the dragon. "Ugh! Fine!" Toothless growled. Windshear nodded her head in agreement. "I'll stay here with you guys," I told the dragons as I scratched their heads. "Be careful, both of you," I told the pair. Both nodded their heads and left. I climbed onto the rock and took out my spyglass. Things were going fine until a Hunter noticed Hiccup's peg leg. Soon, they were starting to follow them. 'Nice try.' I quickly launched into the bushes and fired a plasma blast to create a diversion so Heather and Hiccup could escape. I quickly fled back to the dragons and saw them looking at me with concern. "You fine?" Crystal asked me as she walked around me, checking to make sure I'm fine. "I'm ok, sis. Hiccup and Heather are okay too. I should've told Hiccup to wear a boot to disguise that peg leg of his," I told the dragons.  "Should've seen that coming," Toothless growled and Windshear nodded in agreement. I went over to Crystal's saddle bag and got some fish for Toothless and Crystal and some sea slugs for Windshear. "Okay guys, eat up," I spoke as the dragons dug into the food. After they ate, Toothless started to sniff the air. "What is it?" I asked him. "No. It couldn't  be," Toothless growled and quickly walked off. Windshear, Crystal and I followed him to see Dagur?! "What the?! How is he alive?!" I whispered yelled. "I don't know. But Hiccup and Heather have to see this," Windshear growled. "Agreed. Let Crystal and I handle this part," I told the two as Crystal and I sneak our way towards Dagur. He was alone so we quickly jumped him. I hit a pressure point on his neck so he was out cold. "Nice job, sis. Now let's take him to Hiccup and Heather. I have a feeling they've already seen him."
