Gold Rush

Selene's POV

It's been about a month or so since the Midnight Sun and I was so relieved to see everyone back to normal. Stormfly and Sandstorm told me that in her euphoric state, Astrid was pretty much flirting with my younger sister. I was really hoping that they'd realize their feelings for one another soon because it is so painful watching them be friendly. Right now, I was timing Hiccup on an obstacle course I set up for him. I saw him and Toothless shoot out of the water and I smiled. The pair flew back to where Crystal and I were. Upon landing, Crystal launched at Toothless and tackled him, luckily, Hiccup got off in time. "Didn't want to be in the Fury love pile?" I joked with my lover. He just smiled and pulled me in by my waist. I frowned when I noticed the bags starting to form underneath his eyes.

"You haven't been getting any rest have you?" I asked him with a frown. "I can't rest, love. Not when Viggo is out there doing who knows what. We need to strike him first before he makes another move," Hiccup told me as he caressed my cheek with love. "If you wanna hurt Viggo, talk to me." Hiccup and I turned around to see Dagur and Shattermaster? "Dagur?" I questioned.

We took Dagur back to the clubhouse and man were the others just as surprised as we were. I cooked up some food for the man and he scrounged it like a Death Song. "Oh! Mm, this is good! And cooked to perfection. Mm, just the way I like it. Brother, you've got to marry this once soon! With the way she cooks along with her other skills, she's too good to let go," Dagur told Hiccup. That caused some heat to rise to our cheeks. "Geez, you're acting like you've been starving yourself," Lillian spoke as she leaned against a post. "You're not far off. We haven't eaten in days. Isn't that right, Shattermaster?" Dagur asked his Gronckle. Fishlegs rolled in a cart full of rocks and dumped them for the dragon. Shattermaster dove right into the rocks and man was he hungry. "Easy, Shattermaster. Remember your manners," Dagur told his dragon. "Oh, right." Shattermaster then spewed out some lava.

"Dagur, what about Viggo?" Hiccup asked and slammed a fist on the table. "Yes, of course. The strangest thing happened while I was out traveling the world in search for Oswald the Agreeable," Dagur defiantly dropped a bomb with the last few words. "Wait a minute, you're searching for our father?" Heather asked her brother. Dagur then told us since neither he nor Heather killed their father, he must be out there somewhere. Dagur then told us when he was searching he caught a very wimpy Dragon Hunter and that got him chuckling. I saw Hiccup's face was starting to contort with frustrating and put a hand on his arm. "Dagur, next please," I asked the man. "Right. I sneered at him and he gave me everything. I mean, I actually had to give him the Berserker chokehold just to shut him up," Dagur spoke. Tuffnut then spoke how he loved the Berserker chokehold. Ruffnut then proceeded to do the sad chokehold, with one other on her brother.

"So, what did the Hunter say about Viggo?" Hiccup asked Dagur. "I'll tell you if you call me brother. Please? Just once. Please?" Dagur practically begged Hiccup. But, my boyfriend wasn't having it. "Okay, okay. Just a barrel of laughs, aren't you? He told me where Viggo hides hid gold," Dagur revealed. "What?" Lillian and Astrid asked in unison. "And if I remember correctly, some of that gold..." Dagur trailed off. "Is Berk's gold," Astrid finished. "Bingo," Dagur spoke and took another bite of his meat. "And we could get it back and cripple Viggo in one blow. Let's ride," Hiccup spoke, but Dagur interrupted before we could leave. "Don't forget the best part. After we get your gold back, if you don't mind, I'll take a few bags of Viggo's gold for myself," Dagur spoke then added how he and Heather would need it to find their father. "Yeah, right, Dagur. I think you took one too many to the head," Heather told her brother. Dagur then revealed that was the real reason he was here. I could see the sincerity in his eyes. He wants to turn a new wing and have a real family with Heather and their father.  We were soon all in the air and I noticed Heather was hanging back. I patted Crystal's head and she slowed down so we were next to Windshear and Heather.
