Selene's POV
It was nighttime here at Dragon's Edge. Hiccup, Astrid and I were patrolling the island, keeping an eye out for Dagur. "Well, very good patrol, guys. The Edge is secure," Hiccup told us and we flew back to the base, only to see no Night Terrors at the Watch towers. "Tuffnut!!" I shouted and Crystal shot to the arena, to see Tuff and Ruff playing fetch with a Night Terror. "You got to be kidding me!" I shouted in rage and got off Crystal. The twins turned their heads towards me and knew I was mad. "Wait! We're dragon training," Ruff spoke and I just glared at her and her brother. "These guys are our last line of defense! We need them at their towers," I told them and walked over, picking up the Terror from the twins. "Can you round up any other Terrors the twins took and head back to your towers?" I asked the little dragon. "You got it," he purred, nuzzled into me and took off. I turned around and saw Astrid chastising the twins and Snotlout. "She has a point. Dagur could park a whole fleet off shore and we wouldn't even know because the Terrors aren't where they need to be," I added. "He doesn't even know where Dragon's Edge is," Snotlout retorted. "He will soon enough if you guys don't start taking this seriously," I glared at the boy. "I say bring it on! Let him bring that weak sauce in here. Hookfang and I will pummel his deranged butt," Snotlout glared at me. Hookfang screeched at his rider, when a Terrible Terror came sky diving in. He dove and hit Fishlegs right in the face. "Ouch," I muttered and walked over. I saw the little dragon had a parchment tied to his leg. "What's this?" I thought aloud and read the writing. My eyes widened and I immediately got on Crystal. "What's going on?" Astrid asked me. "That's from Stoick. Dagur attacked Berk not long ago!" I exclaimed. And now, we were all on our dragons, flying towards Berk. Once we got there, it was awful. Homes were destroyed, fires burning still.
Stoick and Skullcrusher flew over to greet us. "Son, I'm glad you're here," Stoick greeted us. "Why did Dagur do this?" I questioned the chief with anger in my voice. Stoick grimaced, not knowing either. "It was a hit-and-run attack. Catapults and volleyed of fire arrows. Hit a few buildings in town," Stoick then turned to Astrid. "Astrid, one of them was your parents house," the said girl's eyes widened with worry. "You should probably head over to-" Stoick didn't get a chance to finish. Stormfly was already diving towards the plaza. Crystal and I were right behind them. When we landed, Astrid sprinted towards her house, only to see it destroyed. I quickly got off Crystal and ran over to her. Gobber walked towards us, ash covering his body. "You're parents are fine, lass. They were out at the yak races. I'm sorry we couldn't save your house," Gobber apologized to the girl. I put a hand on Astrid's shoulder, letting her know I'm here. "If they had been home, Gobber..." Astrid started, then trailed off, not wanting to imagine the worst scenario. "But they weren't," Gobber reassured the girl. "Yeah. We'll get your house rebuilt good as new," I put out. Stoick was now ordering the villagers to start rebuilding the houses, while Hiccup was ordering us to help with the repairs. "Snotlout, Ruff, Tuff, you ferry whatever supplies they need. Fishlegs, you and Meatlug do the heavy lifting. Selene and I will go looking for Dagur." I saw a hint of proudness in Stoick's eyes. "It was a strange attack, kids. A single ship. It fired a few salvos, and then just, turned tail and ran," Stoick informed us. "That definitely isn't Dagur's style. Why attack at all then?" I questioned as I got on Crystal. "Good question, lass," Stoick responded while putting a hand to his beard. "We'll ask him when we find him," Hiccup informed his dad, now on Toothless. "He was heading north. That's your best bet," Stoick informed us. "Thanks, sir," I thanked the chief and Crystal shot off.
Hiccup, the Furies and I searched for hours and nothing. "We should probably head back. We haven't seen a single trace of Dagur or his ship," I called out to Hiccup. "Yeah, good idea," he commented and we flew back to the academy. Once we got there we saw Meatlug with her paws in buckets. "Is Meatlug ok?" I asked Fishlegs. "She's fine. All that taking off and landing is really tough on her insoles," Fishlegs informed us. "Oh, ok. Well, we couldn't find any sign of Dagur, but he did have a full day's head start on us," Hiccup informed the others. I put a hand on his shoulder, and he put his hand on mine. I turned my head a bit and saw tons of food and furniture by the twins. "You know they stole that, right?" Crystal asked me and I nodded my head. I released my hand from my boyfriend's and walked over to the twins. "So, was all the food and furniture given to you two?" I asked with sarcasm laced in my voice. The twins obviously didn't pick up on my sarcasm, "yeah. We fixed so many houses." Ruff then added her input to her brother;s. "Yeah, can you believe they just left us all this food?" She asked then Sven came running in, shouting about food and furniture being stolen. I returned me glare to Ruff, who was now sitting in a chair. "Return everything, now!" I shouted and she and Tuff immediately started gathering the stuff they stole. Yeah, don't tick me off. Stormfly and Astrid then flew into the arena. Astrid slid off Stormfly and Crystal walked over to the Nadder. "How's your family?" I asked the girl, putting a hand on her shoulder. "They're ok. Their house... the one I grew up in is gone," the girl spoke with sadness laced in her tone. Snotlout walked over and placed his arm on her other shoulder. I moved my hand, knowing what was going to happen. "Hey, Astrid, do you need a shoulder to cry on?" Snotlout genuinely asked the girl. She just glared and grabbed his arm and swung him around a few times before throwing him at the wall. "Pain," the boy muttered. Astrid walked over and thanked the boy and helped him up. "Ok, now that we're all here. Dagur was last seen fleeing due north. By our calculations, he could be heading out of the archipelago. So, we're going back to Dragon's Edge first thing tomorrow," Hiccup told the gang. I then saw Astrid walking over to Stormfly, I assume to get her camping gear. "You gonna sleep here tonight?" I asked the girl and she nodded her head. "What a coincidence, Crystal and I are sleeping here too," I told the girl. "Yeah. It can be a sleepover," Crystal chimed in. "Yeah, so are Toothless and myself," Hiccup added in. "Why? You guys have a warm bed and house," Astrid asked us. "Yeah, but, the way my dad snores, sawing logs, you know. We wouldn't be able to get a wink of sleep, right, m'lady?" Hiccup asked me and I nodded my head. "Yeah, Meatlug and I were gonna stay here too, just for old times' sake,' Fishlegs commented, holding a pillow. "Uh-uh. Nobody is having a sleepover. Without Hookfang and me," Snotlout laughed and rolled out a blanket.
