"𝐇𝐈," 𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐃 as she broke off a conversation with Ani and Jessica at the sight of her boyfriend. He walked up to her and pressed a kiss to her cheek to greet her.

"Hey, my parents are both working splits tonight, so, house to ourselves." Alex told her excitedly.

"Oh, amazing!" Nessa tried to force herself to sound excited. Ever since her conversation with Zach a few days ago, she had been feeling guilty. She knew that eventually, and soon, she needed to tell Alex the truth. She was trying to prolong it because the moment she said it, they would be over. And Nessa didn't know if she was ready for that. "I actually need to study for stats tonight. Maybe this weekend?"

"Okay, yeah." Alex said sadly. "Sounds good."

He leaned in to kiss her, but Nessa was already on her way off. She quickly pressed a kiss to Alex's lips before rejoining Ani and Jessica, who were looking at her with extreme confusion, and a little bit of pity.

"What?" Nessa asked as she chuckled.

"Nothing." Jessica said as she shook her head.

"Oh, shush, Jess." Nessa said as she scowled. Jess was the first one to notice when something was up with her.

"I didn't say a word, Ness." Jessica replied as they continued down the hallways.

"Oh, one of you just say it." Nessa pleaded with annoyance. She knew what was coming.

"It's really not my place." Ani said and Jessica nodded, gesturing over to the girl in agreement. "But there didn't seem like a great deal of passion behind that kiss."

"Yeah, Ness." Jessica told her as they walked. "I've seen you and Alex, and this is not normal."

"Fuck." Nessa said as she winced, stopping in her tracks. "Do you think he noticed?"

"You two have been together for over a year, Nessa." Jessica told her matter-of-factly. "I think it's possible."

"Yeah, I don't know what boys notice." Ani told Nessa beside her. "You think nothing, and then-"

Nessa rushed to the lockers, pulling Jessica and Ani with her as she huddled with the two of them "We're having awful sex." Nessa blurted, immediately feeling bad. "I mean awful, and I'm pretty sure it's me. I thought I was ready, but...all of the things we used to do and that used to make me feel fantastic, makes me feel nothing."

Jessica looked at Nessa, her eyes softening as she realized how serious this was, and how awful Nessa felt. Jessica felt for her, she knew how hard this must be for her best friend. She and Alex had been through so much together.

"And he tries so hard, I feel bad." Nessa admitted. "But I've been stressed for weeks, and I really don't know if we will ever be the same again."
