𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐀𝐒 𝐀 kite was a complete understatement for what Nessa, Winston, and Zach were right now. The three teenagers were on a completely different planet right now.

"Dude..." Zach said as the three of them leaned up against the cabinets in the photography room. Zach had his working hand buried deep into a bag of chips, and Nessa was grateful that she had brought her sour gummy worms to school today. Winston sat with his legs pulled into him – he was clearly feeling it more than the Dempsey twins.

"Shit's weak." Zach announced with his mouth full. "I don't feel anything."

"Tell that to the chips you just violated, Zach." Nessa joked as she laughed sloppily, shoving at least three gummy worms into her mouth.

"I expected quality premium substances from you, Hillcrest boy." Zach said, and Winston stared at his feet in front of him as he tried to put his words together.

"You have eaten all of the yearbooks snacks, and that is the last of my lunch, so..." Winston told the hungry boy, and Nessa couldn't help but laugh, because anything was funny right now – the beauty of weed. "You're stoned."

"Nah, you're talking to the guy that's been fucked up for half a semester." Zach replied, half zoned out. "I think I'd know if I was..."

The silence was loud for a while, but as if there was a cue, Winston, Nessa and Zach all broke out into a contagious fit of laughter. The three of them sat with each other, and anytime there was a break, someone would pick it back up again with a chuckle. This went on for a good while, although it could have been mere minutes with how high Nessa was.

Their laughter eventually came to a halt, and all three of them were waiting to see who would speak first. Naturally, it was Winston that found the words.

"So, why are you always fucked up?" he asked Zach, and Nessa was curious to see what his answer would be. Sure, she knew, but how would he explain all of that to Winston of all people.

"It's just, high school man." Zach said sloppily. "People suck."

Nessa nodded, and Winston sighed.

"Your friends suck." he admitted to the two siblings. "I learned that in Burnham Woods."

"Are you talking about Alex?" Nessa spoke up for the first time in a while. She knew she probably shouldn't be talking about anything of this nature with Winston, but the weed was taking over and she was feeling talkative.

"You know about it?" Winston asked the girl, and she nodded.

"So, yeah." Winston said in a daze as he stared straight ahead, refusing to meet Nessa's eyes. "Come to me when your boyfriend breaks up with you for no reason and won't even look at you and basically hates your guts."

Nessa was about to say something, but Zach beat her to it – damn twin telepathy.

"Don't act innocent, okay?" Zach snarled as his face curled up. "You lied to him."
