↳ season three, episode seven: there are a number of problems with clay jensen
act one / who killed bryce walker?

𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 Jessica down the hallway, feeling a bit lighter. Ever since she had spilled about Scott to Justin, she had been dying to tell Jessica. However, once Ani had walked up to both girls at school, that longing feeling went right out the window, and was replaced with panic.

"Jess, Nessa." Ani said in a hushed tone as she shut her locker and walked up to the girls. "Have either of you heard from Justin?"

"No." Nessa said.

"No, why?" Jessica asked.

"He and Clay are with the police." Ani told the girls, and Nessa wanted to throw up. Tony had literally just been released from jail. "They found security footage of Clay literally pointing a gun at Bryce and Justin trying to talk him down."

"Fucking fantastic." Nessa muttered as the girls continued down the halls, Jessica shaking her head in a frazzled state.

"Of course that house had a security camera." Jessica said in a hushed tone.

"Wait, you two knew about this?" Ani asked as she stopped walking, and both girls turned around to face her.

"Yeah, Justin told me about it." Jessica said.

"And Jessica told me." Nessa added on. Jessica told her pretty much everything. Well, almost.

"Do either of you..." Ani trailed off, sharply inhaling. "You don't think Clay...You don't think he could've actually done something, do you?"

"No!" Jessica said quickly, but then both girls stopped to think about their answers.

"I don't know, Ani." Nessa said softly. She didn't want to believe Clay was capable of that, but she truly didn't know. There were a number of problems with Clay Jensen, as everyone knew.

"Was he in love with Hannah?" Ani asked quickly, and Nessa and Jessica looked at each other.

"Did he not tell you?" Nessa asked as her brows furrowed. "Hannah, the tapes, the trial..."

"Almost nothing." Ani told the girls.

"Jesus." Jessica exclaimed. "In here."

The girls led Ani into an empty classroom and told her everything about the tapes. Every last detail, even the difficult ones. They both glazed over their own tapes for obvious reasons.

"So, Clay went after everyone on the tapes?" Ani asked curiously, and the girls nodded. "I mean, I knew he could be obsessive, but–"

Nessa threw her hands up in agreement with that statement as Jessica chuckled. Obsessive was the perfect word to describe Clay Jensen, and everything that he did.

"And when the trial started, it was like he cared more about Hannah than me, or Jessica, or anyone else who was alive." Nessa told Ani, who seemed visibly uncomfortable.

"I mean, that's not fair, because I think he knew that we were hurting, but-" Jessica started, but Ani cut her off.

"But he didn't respect that you two weren't ready to speak." Ani finished, taking the words right out of Nessa and Jessica's mouths.
