ALEX: Calling it a homicide and they found steroids on the scene

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐄𝐗𝐓𝐒 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 Alex that Nessa had received this morning was enough to ruin her entire day completely, before it had even had a chance to begin. Scott was still asleep next to her, which made getting ready and out of the house without her mother suspecting anything, ten times more difficult.

What the fuck? Nessa texted Alex back as she shook Scott awake – he was an incredibly deep sleeper. She moved him back and forth, earning grunts and groans from the boy as he protested.

"Scott!" Nessa raised her voice in an attempt to stay as quiet as possible. "Get up!"

"I'm up, I'm up." Scott said as he groaned, rubbing his eyes to wake himself up for the day. "Shit, I slept in."

"Yeah, you did." Nessa said as she threw his shirt at him, taking a moment to admire his body. He was in shape, and it was a beautiful sight in the mornings.

"Like what you see?" Scott teased her as Nessa rolled her eyes. He got up out of the bed, wrapping her in a deep hug as he kissed her forehead. "Good morning, pretty."

"Stop stalling." Nessa told him, but she couldn't help but wish he'd never leave. With the absolute trainwreck of a day she had ahead of her, she deserved to have at least a few moments of peace and happiness with the boy that helped her get back on her feet.

Nessa walked to her closet, pulling clothes off of the hangers as she decided what to wear today. She sighed, thinking about the text that she had woken up to this morning, her stomach immediately churning. She hated this feeling.

"Scotty?" Nessa asked as she stayed fixated on her closet, refusing to meet his eyes.

"Yes?" Scott asked as he pulled his shirt back on, digging in his backpack to find a sweatshirt that he could pull over to change his outfit a little from the day before.

"Was Bryce taking steroids?" Nessa asked nervously as she chewed on her lip. "Or was he selling them, maybe?"

"Why do you ask?" Scott questioned as he walked over to the corner housing Nessa's closet. Nessa pulled out her phone, swiping over to the text that Alex had sent her this morning. She flipped her phone to show Scott, watching as his brows furrowed as he read the text.

"Why is Alex texting you about it?" Scott asked her, jealousy tainting his voice.

"We're sort of in this mess together, you know that." Nessa told Scott as she grabbed his hand, kissing it. "You don't have anything to worry about."

Scott smiled, wrapping his muscular arms around Nessa's small body as he rested his chin on the top of her head. He knew the truth, but he liked hearing Nessa say it. He liked the reassurance, considering how long he had spent trying to get to this place with her finally.
