"Mom why are you Nervous"

"no I am not "

" you are not consuming your sweets and shaking your leg , which is indeed a indicator"

"me.. leave it , you should study I am going to see your father"

" aren't you tasting the cake , the new chef made it "

" ok"

Her eyes gleamed after finishing it off.

" it's so good , this chef is better than the previous one "

" then let's keep him , no big deal"

" hmm " she nodded and went away .

Karl's pov

 I heard the knights whisper 

"hey isn't she the duchess no I mean the to be duchess"

"yeah , I once saw her on battlefield "

I looked in the direction , It was indeed Selene . Why was she here nothing less on the training ground . But I liked it either way .

She waved at me standing in the shade of a tree . She was wearing heels , so I went to her . The training grounds were muddy , she could dirty her gown and it wasn't the most comfortable to walk with heels on .

" I was coming to you " she said smiling .

"No , your gown will get muddy "

"It is no big deal "

"It is a big deal , Miss rovertole , If people see you in a dirty down , they might as well think her soon to be husband is a jerk "

"Why are you here anyway " I asked.

"Nothing just dropped by I was with lia till now "

"Are you kidding ? dropped by . They are in opposite direction , so the reason is ...."

"Nothing really I just came to see you and of course I wanna see how things work in north " she said looking in the direction of knights .

"No not right now some another day "

" why " she whined .

"We are training , we all smell of sweat "

She said making her way towards the knights.

" will you please introduce me hun " She said giving the broadest smile .

It's out of my league to refuse that smile .so I went with the flow helping her with her gown .Signaling the knights to be in order , practically fitting my words in their mind  ' behave you guys  '

" She is marquise Selene as you know "

I stopped with it and I was kinda proud to be honest . My woman is awesome , isn't she .

I looked at selene , she had this deadpan look on her face , so did the the knights .

"Anyway guys I am Selene Rovertole ,the betrothed of Duke striphen . It's nice to make your acquaintance "

One by one , everyone came and Introduced themselves , I watched it happen infront of me . They were literally smiling ear to ear. Insolent brats.

After everyone was done , I told them to bid there farewells . they did .

" Why were you staring daggers "

I said as I helped her upstairs.

"Were you jealous , karl "

Honestly speaking I was , I know it very well . But would I admit , no I won't . so I spoke nothing .

" so you were "  she nodded in understanding.

We have already reached her room , so no point in controlling .

With a swift moment she was pinned to the wall, poor her she was too shocked from the impact to even say anything . I don't want her to escape while i ask question.

"Why were you there , I bet you didn't come to meet the knights "

"how did you know " 

" I just know "  i said removing the silver lock from her beautiful face.

She bit her lips . I pecked them and cupped her face .

" they'll bleed if you bite that hard"

" Aren't you nervous "

I knew what she meant , any sane person would be nervous if there wedding was in 4 days.

" I am really nervous too , How I would look like a cow Infront of my goddess like bride " I said and laughed when I noticed her reaction.

" That's humble coming from the most handsome man in the continent right now, and you are not at all nervous , if you are fooling around like that. no need to laugh at me " she sulked

"hmm"

" I am more scared than nervous and even happier than scared , makes no sense right , It is a mixed felling , I am scared what if I mess up again , I don't want you to suffer but then again the fact that my family will be complete in just 4 days , I can't be more happy, and if you and lia are by my side , I think I won't get lost again ."

 "I love you , I love you too much " I said It out aloud.

I linked my forehead with her , the sound of heartbeats was echoing in the dead silent room. 

But a bare whisper made my heart nearly come out of my chest .
