: Later :

Ashfur sighed. It's later. What does Brambleclaw want to talk about? Nervousness caused his fur to twitch.
Eventually Brambleclaw walked over to him and sat down.
“What is it?” Ashfur asked.
“I think it's important for me to say this, so I'm going to say it. If you can't be civil with all of my kits I don't know if we are going to work.” Brambleclaw told him.
Ashfur’s breath caught in his throat. But he had been given a choice. He could either. . . Suddenly he froze. Why did he hate Hollyleaf exactly? She did try to kill him but. . . He did it first. And he did it because he hated Squirrelflight. Hollyleaf didn't really do anything that bad.
Ashfur slumped to the ground. “I’m a monster, aren't I?” he whimpered pitifully, tears welling up in his eyes.
Brambleclaw pulled Ashfur close to him. “No, you aren't. You were before but not anymore. You're trying to change. That's all I can ask for.”
Ashfur kept his gaze fixed on the ground. No it's not enough! Nothing I can do would ever be enough! I can try to make up for it for the rest of my life, and It would never be enough!
Ashfur was broken from his self loathing as Brambleclaw pressed his nose to Ashfur's cheek.
Ashfur stiffened. He turned to Brambleclaw and blinked. Brambleclaw stared back at him.
Ashfur took a breath. “I’m going to need your help with this.” he said eventually.
Brambleclaw nodded. “Of course.”

And I'm doing this again. Hooray. Ashfur thought sourly. This would probably be even worse, considering it was Hollyleaf.
Brambleclaw and Hollyleaf eventually appeared.
Ashfur sat in his hiding spot. He didn't think it was a good idea to hide, but he trusted Brambleclaw.
“So what is it?” Hollyleaf asked, her bushy tail flicking.
Brambleclaw half glanced at where Ashfur was hiding. “I wanted to talk to you about something.” he told Hollyleaf.
Hollyleaf tipped her head. “What is it?”
Brambleclaw sat down. “Its about you and-”
Hollyleaf finished for him. “Ashfur?”
Brambleclaw nodded.
Hollyleaf growled. “Well it isn't my fault he tried to kill me! I don't know why you keep hanging around him but I would stop. He's obviously up to something!”
Close enough to what's happening. Ashfur thought, rolling his eyes.
Brambleclaw sighed. “Hollyleaf please, I'm not stupid. You don't have to worry about it.”
Hollyleaf shook her head slowly. “I trust you. But he's not trustworthy. Just be careful.”
Says the one who half blinded me! Ashfur thought bitterly.
Brambleclaw nodded. “There’s something else,” he began.
Hollyleaf blinked.
“Well, you see, someone has something to tell you.” Brambleclaw informed her.
Hollyleaf raised a brow. “Who?”
Brambleclaw glanced over at Ashfur, and nodded.
Ashfur took a breath before he left his hiding spot.
Hollyleaf instantly snarled. “What are you doing here?!” she demanded.
Ashfur flicked his tail. “Have you been paying any attention? I'm here to apologize. So let me just say I'm sorry. About everything. I don't really care if you don't believe me. I know I'm being truthful, and that's all that matters to me.” he told Hollyleaf seriously.
Hollyleaf glared at him. “Fine. I believe you.” she didn't sound serious at all, just sarcastic. Hollyleaf then proceeded to stalk off.
Brambleclaw shrugged. “It was worth a shot.”
Ashfur drew a paw over his face. “I guess.”
