: Trouble :

“Well I can't either, you'll be fine.” Ashfur assured Rain.
The fluffy grey tom still looked uncertain. “I still wish Darktail and Toad were here.” he mumbled.
Ashfur shrugged. “You and your mates aren't always going to be on the same patrol.” he said.
Rain jumped. “How- Why? That-” he stammered.
Ashfur shrugged again. “It was obvious. Just maybe be less obvious about it. Some cats in this clan aren't exactly fond of anything differing from the norm.” he advised.
Rain nodded. “Thanks. I appreciate it.”
Ashfur smiled a little. “No problem.”
How did I turn out to be this good with other cats relationships? Ashfur wondered.
Rain froze. “Vole.” he whispered.
Ashfur turned, he spotted the small brown creature nibbling on a nut. The leaves around the vole reminded him that leaf-bare was approaching.
Ashfur began stalking, he kept his eye fixed on the vole. He moved over a tad so that he could pounce on it correctly. After he was satisfied with how close he was, Ashfur bunched his hind quarters and leaped for the vole. He caught it between his paws and quickly snapped its neck.
I did it! I really did it! I caught it! I can't believe this! Suddenly most of his clanmates doubts were invalid. He could hunt!
Rain bounded over. “Nice catch!” he called.
Ashfur nodded at him. “See how easy it is?!” his excitement at his catch had yet to wear off.
Rain nodded. “It’s just like hunting normally but harder!”
Ashfur started laughing. “I mean yeah! Of course!”
Rain laughed a little too. “Yeah I guess that was kind of stupid to say.”
“No kidding!” Ashfur almost fell on the ground laughing. “Let’s go find you something to catch.”

After a bit of searching the two toms came across a small finch.
Ashfur shot Rain a questioning look. The young grey tom nodded.
Rain began to stalk forward, he kept his tail high off the ground to prevent his fluff from brushing any leaves.
He’s got this. If I can hunt then so can he! Ashfur thought.
Rain pounced, leaves scattering as he did. But he landed an ear length away from the finch. The finch cried with alarm and flew away. “Fluff!” Rain cursed.
“That was a good first try.” Ashfur assured him.
Rain whisked his tail In irritation. “That was such an easy catch! A kit could have caught it! Why can't I do anything right anymore!?” his self loathing caught Ashfur off guard. It was so much like the thoughts Ashfur had about himself.
“I didn't catch anything on my first try either. You're fine.” Ashfur mewed sympathetically.
Rain shook his head in response.

s the two arrived at camp, Darktail and Toad rushed over to Rain.
“How’d it go?” Toad asked.
Rain huffed. “Teribly.” he growled.
“Oh come on it can't have been worse than your first ever hunting attempt.” Toad nudged Rain.
Darktail nodded. “Yeah, Rain you probably did really good.” he added.
“He did do good.” Ashfur told Darktail.
“I thought so.” Darktail turned back to Rain. “See, he says you did good.”
Ashfur picked up his vole and trotted over to Brambleclaw.
Ashfur dropped the vole in front of Brambleclaw. “Look! I caught something!” he sounded like an excited apprentice.
Brambleclaw purred. “Great work! I knew you could do it.”
Ashfur’s gaze landed on Thornclaw and Spiderleg. The two toms were sitting in a secluded area of camp, sharing tounges and laughing.
There might be a new pairing soon. Ashfur thought.

A rustling noise woke Ashfur. He looked up.
That's. . . Odd. Ashfur stood up.
He slowly made his way out of the warriors den. Strangely there was no one on guard.
Something is very wrong. Ashfur made his way out of camp. He needed to figure out what was going on.
Ashfur froze. He could feel eyes on him. “Who’s there?” he demanded.
No one answered. Ashfur turned, he was going back to camp.
Suddenly Ashfur was struck by something. He fell to the ground, pain exploding in his head.
A flash of orange engulfed his vision. A familiar scent washed over him. But he was unable to place it.
Ashfur could feel himself being dragged. He kicked and clawed to no avail.
Ashfur was flung at a tree, he slumped to the ground, darkness swirling around him.
I can't believe I'm going to die like this. Ashfur thought miserably.
Ashfur's attacker rushed away.
After a few moments another cat walked over to Ashfur.
Ashfur let out a growl and weakly swiped at the newcomer.
“Will you chill?! I'm trying to help you!” The cat snapped. . . A voice that was unsettlingly familiar.
The cat picked Ashfur up and began walking.
The cat only spoke once, and it was clearly to themself. “Is everyone losing their left eye now?”
The cat finally set Ashfur down. “Alright, there's someone here that I trust to help you. But now I have to go.”
Ashfur was left alone and he fell unconscious.

Vixen watched. He’s back? I'm actually quite shocked. They blinked. Their tail twitched. And then. . . Well I'm surprised that one seems to have become a villain.
