The sun has just rise up in to the cloud, all of the shadows begin to disappear from the ground and the birds begin to chirp. Golden tail slowly woke up in the nursery den She saw her other kits pearlkit and ashkit we're all ready beginning, to awaken but her other kit featherkit was still asleep she thought that featherkit was really tired so she let her sleep in while the other kids drank their milk and went outside to play with the other kits " hey guys let's play clan!" Ashkit said " oh yeah that sounds like fun Brother!" Pearlkit jumped in excitement "okay so we need a leader of deputy of medicine cat and a few warriors!" Fern kit was the first reply to clam a role " I don't mind being the med cat!" Ashkit nodded as the others claim theirs they all got their spots and began to play. " hey how's it going?" Wind tail Said, emerging from the fresh kill pile " oh everything's fine ashkit and pearlkit are playing with the other kits!" Golden tail looked at the delicious fish that wild tail was carrying his mouth. " oh. Yeah, I'm guessing that. Featherkit is still sleeping.?" Wind tail questioned " oh yeah I'm sure she'll wake up eventually wanting to eat something!" They both laughed he dropped the fish from his mouth onto the ground " here I bought you some fish thought you might be hungry!" He nodded as she began to pick it up "awh thank you!" He nodded before he turned back around.
A while goes by and featherkit has not woken up yet golden tail still thought that she might be in a deep sleep and didn't feel like waking up her other siblings tried to get her to play, but she just didn't move a muscle at one point it felt like she was never gonna wake up again until she noticed that featherkit was not breathing She immediately panicked and screamed as loud as she could. "AHHHHH!!!"
The whole clan heard the loud screen some turned around to see who it was and some just ignored it. just then storm pelt came rushing over to the nursery den " what happened? Is everything okay? Why are you screaming?" Storm pelt was out of breath and trying to breathe as he talked " no everything's not okay I don't know what to do!" She snapped in anger " calm down and tell me exactly what's going on!" He didn't know how to help gold tail unless she tell him what happened " Well, this morning I woke up and then shortly after two of my kits woke up and they were completely fine but featherkit was not awake. I assumed that she was still sleeping but it's been a while and she just stopped breathing..." Storm pelt froze for a second how long has she been asleep for? How long has she not been breathing for? He wondered. "okay I'm gonna go ahead and check on her to make sure that she's fine" he slowly walked towards the kit to examine her closely " please make sure she is fine!" Golden tail weeped " look I'll try my best but there's no guarantee" he looked at her for a moment before turning back to the kit He took a deep breath before looking at golden tail again " I am sorry to say this, but featherkit is dead!" "WHAT you have to be joking please don't tell me she's dead!" Golden tail cried softly But all storm pelt did was give her a nod and headed out.
" hey ocean star do you have a sec? It's kind of important." He shouted. " yeah sure come in" ocean star said setting up from her moss bed " I have some unfortunate news to share with you" he Tried not to hold back his tears " golden tail and wind tails kit featherkit died" that was a long positive silence he was wondering how she would take this news " how is that possible? She was fine yesterday.!" She snapped in anger and fear " yeah I was wondering that too and golden said that she was drinking enough milk and staying active so I don't know how she could've died?" How is that a cat just randomly dies I mean there must've been something going on that maybe I just couldn't see " oh no I knew it can't be happening. Why is this happening to us?" ocean star new this all made sense now dark clan clan and mountain clan all had cats that passed away, and now her clan was being infected by this dead cat situation " what are you talking about? What do you mean? I knew it I can't be.?" he was confused by what she did she know something that he didn't know " oh don't worry it's just thank you for telling me I'll announce it to the clanASAP" he gave her one final before headed out to the rest of the clan out in the clearing.
"Let all cats old enough to swim the rapids gather around the wet rock for a meeting." The clan stopped what they were doing and immediately turned all eyes onto Ocean star "sadly featherkit died so any family members or close friends must stay vile for the night until the morning when some warriors will come burry her meeting dismissed" the clan was silent as most of the clan went to pay their respects. Ashkit and pearlkit sat beside there dead sister hoping this was all a dream but it sadly wasn't they both started crying along with there parents there was so much emotion going on between the young kits so they said there last goodbyes and headed back to there den to get some rest.
In the morning windtail and a few others made their way to burry her in the center of the camp. Once the other cats left he said the final goodbyes while crying before he headed back to the camp.
"Goodbye sweetheart I will miss you featherkit and so will your family and the rest of the clan!"
