We're leaving for Sophia's skating competition. Sophia left early this morning after arranging for me and Vivian to switch off and on with babysitting the boys. Instead, Vivian and I made a plan to take the boys to the competition because we knew it would mean the world to Sophia to have them there. Spencer even helped me pack their bags. We plan to stay for the whole week of the competition.
We have a two hour drive just to get to the airport so we packed up my jeep and headed out. The boys have their tablets to keep them entertained on the drive and flight. Vivian made snack boxes which made the journey a lot smoother. Weeks ago I ordered a booster seat for Liam. I wanted to be prepared to be involved in the boys' lives. Andrew helped me set it up last week, it took us an hour just to figure out the installation. I wasn't confident in our skills so I drove to our coach's house for him to make sure that the car seat was installed correctly. Thankfully, we had done it correctly.
Our flight went great, Liam napped half the time while Spencer looked out the window. I thought it would be fun to book a hotel room at the famous Ozark Splash and Play Waterpark. Liam started squealing when we pulled into the hotel parking lot. He was so excited that as soon as we parked he ran to the side of the car to get a better view of the water slide.
"Is that water slide coming out the top of that building?" Liam looked astonished.
"Yes it is, you do know how to swim don't you Liam?" Suddenly I realize that maybe the boys can't swim. If they can't, I'm not too worried about it. We can stay away from the water or they could wear life jackets. It would break Liam's heart. I know Spencer wouldn't mind too much though.
"Sophia made sure to teach us how to swim lessons as kids." Spencer mumbled.
"Thank goodness." I need to calm down, the boys are excited and it doesn't matter what happens they will be happy.
"Aunt viv can we go swimming yet?Can we go in yet?" Liam shouts.
"Not yet, Bud. we have to carry everything up to our hotel room and get some food. Vivian exclaims as she finishes unloading her suitcase.
Spencer looks really upset, I'm starting to worry. He rolled his eyes a minute ago. Is he okay?
"Okay. When can we see Sissy?" Liam asks.
"Soon, Buddy." I said as quickly as I could.
Spencer rolls his eyes and turns on his phone, scrolling and typing something furiously.
"Can we go play?" Liam asks as I carry him into the hotel room.
"After we eat Liam." Vivian exclaimed as she pulled her phone out.
"Okay, Aunt Viv."
