SIDE BY SIDE, the two of the most feared women in Ketterdam went in search of Inej's target. Victoria was careful to keep her right hand in a fist, making sure that the slit in her glove wasn't going to cause unwanted touch.

"So, who is this guy I'm killing?" Victoria asked as they slipped through the cracks of the rough streets.

"Someone Heleen asked me to take out - a slave trader. She offered my freedom in return." Inej answered, keeping her senses about her. A part of Victoria was proud for Inej, so driven by her own wanting for her freedom, it was admirable really. The other part of Victoria wished Inej would truly see she was more than Heleen's property. In contracts and such, she wasn't. But soon she would be. Once whoever this slave trader was, was dead.

Inej was quick to knock-out and tie-up this slave trader once the two had made it to the supplied address. At least the guy matched the description, they wouldn't have to worry about murdering the wrong arrogant rich man in the Barrel.

Whilst Inej searched endless papers for her own name, Victoria kept a close eye on the target, whilst rooting through more papers the Suli had handed to her. So far, neither found anything, and that was when the man started to stir.

"Inej." Victoria called the woman over as the man began to sit up - well, sit up as much as he could. He was tied to a chair that was propped at an angle, and formerly had shadow keeping the ropes tight, but the Grisha let that dissipate once he began to come to his senses. It's no good telling your target how you plan on killing them.

"Awake? Finally." The Wraith continued to swipe through papers whilst the man panted and groaned like he'd just ran the perimeter of Ketterdam.

"I was starting to think we'd already killed him." Victoria joked, still scanning the papers on her lap. Nothing.

"You hit me." The man managed to speak, his eyes still scrunched shut and his face still bloodied.

"We needed some time." Inej told the man, not daring to look at him. All her focus was on the truth of her past.

"To ransack my apartment?" He questioned as he attempted to sit up, but Victoria gave him a look and he ceased any further attempts.

"To find records of the children you sold to the brothels." The woman corrected, starting through another pile of papers.

"I never sold any indentures." The man told Inej, and Victoria straightened her posture.

"Watch what lies slips your mouth before I start to slit your throat." Victoria threatened, barely looking up as she continued to search for any mentions of Inej or Ghafa.

Inej slammed down the papers in her hand and stormed over to the man, and Victoria turned to face him fully.

"You sold people to the White Rose. People like me." Inej flashed her marked wrist at the man, her arm shaking as her hand pulled into a fist.

"You work for Heleen. No, no, you've got it all wrong." Victoria balled her own hands into fists. Surely one more punch wouldn't hurt the man, would it? "I'm not in her business, I'm a smuggler."

"You steal people. How many Suli indentures have you sold?" The Wraith corrected, demanding an answer.

He desperately shook his head, "I liberate families fleeing the war." Yeah right. And where was he when Victoria was scrambling out of Ravka?
