"James, you’ve caused quite a bit of trouble. Tell me, why should I believe anything you say?" Asked Taehyung calmly. "Mr.Kim, please... I swear, I can get the money. I just need a little more time. I promise, I’ll make it right." Said James nervously. Sweat was forming on his forehead. He was silently begging for mercy.
Taehyung stared at him, he studied James intently. "You know, James, I’ve spent years learning to read people. Lies are like neon signs to me. Why should I believe you’re different now?" Questioned Taehyung sternly.
"Because I’ve learned my lesson. I know I made a mistake, but I can fix it. Just give me one more chance." Said James, his nervousness increasing just because of Taehyungs piercing stare. Taehyung paused for a minute. "Alright, James. You have one week. Get me the money you owe." Stated taehyung to everyone's surprise. His men were shook.
"Thank you, Sir. Thank you so much. I won’t let you down!" Said James being astonished. "Don't make me regret this, James. Now get out of my sight." Said Taehyung coldly sending shivers down James spine. Two guards took James away. The room is left in stunned silence. Taehyung's friends exchange baffled glances before approaching him.
"Hyung, what was that? Why would you let him go?" Asked Jungkook incredulously. "We all saw through his act. What’s the plan here?" Questioned Yoongi further.
"You’re not one to show mercy, especially to someone like him." Stated Namjoon. "Are you sure about this, Taehyung?" Asked Hoseok concerned about whatever Taehyungs plan was. "We trust your judgment, but this seems risky." Stated the oldest one, Seokjin.
"He could be setting us up for another failure Tae." Said Jimin seriously. "I understand your concerns. But sometimes, the best way to catch a rat is to give it a little bit of rope." Said Taehyung calmly but firmly.
Jungkook was still skeptical about everything. "So you’re just going to let him run free?" He asked the elder. Taehyung smiled slightly. "Just trust me. James will lead us to something bigger. Something we need to see. This is all part of the plan. Alright kook?" He asked Jungkook who still looked a little worried. Jungkook sighed and nodded. Taehyung smiled warmly and ruffled the youngers hair.
"Alright, we’re with you. But we’ll be watching closely." Said Yoongi while nodding his head. "Good. Keep an eye on him, but let him believe he’s free. We’ll see where this leads." Said Taehyung calmly. The friends exchange determined looks, understanding that Taehyung has a strategy in mind. They disperse, ready to follow his lead.
