Authors note: Hello everyone I hope you've been enjoying my book. I apologize for the slow updates but I've been very tired ever since school started. So I know that I used to put images in my stories. For example during a gruesome scene I'd put a picture of blood. Unfortunately my WiFi is painfully slow and it takes too long for me to load the pictures. I'll go back to doing it when my WiFi goes back to normal. Thank you💋

The morning light filtered through the curtains as Taehyung slowly opened his eyes, feeling the heaviness of sleep still lingering. He rubbed his face, resisting the urge to stay in bed, but knowing he couldn’t afford to. With a groan, he got up and headed to the bathroom, the cool tiles beneath his feet helping to wake him up. He turned on the shower, letting the water warm up before stepping in.

Meanwhile, Jennie stirred awake, blinking at the ceiling as she adjusted to the morning. She sighed, feeling the familiar weight of the day ahead. Taehyung’s job demanded so much of him, and she knew he would be gone again today for hours, if not longer. It was a reality she had come to accept, but it didn’t make it any easier. She reached for a cigarette on the nightstand and lit it, the smoke curling around her as she stepped out onto the balcony. The morning air was crisp, and she took a long drag, trying to steady her thoughts. When she was married to James he'd be gone for days. Out having affairs. But the difference was she loved Taehyung. She didn't love James.

Jennie heard the water stop and soon after, the bathroom door creaked open. Taehyung emerged, a towel wrapped around his waist, his hair still damp from the shower. Jennie flicked the cigarette over the balcony railing and walked back inside, watching as Taehyung dried his hair and began to dress. His movements were methodical, the way they always were when he was mentally preparing for the day ahead. She knew him well enough to recognize the shift in his demeanor.

Taehyung buttoned up his shirt, smoothing it down before turning his attention to Jennie. He crossed the room in a few strides and kissed her softly. Jennie felt the familiar warmth of his lips but could sense that something was on his mind. She gave him a small smile before heading into the bathroom to take her shower, leaving Taehyung to his thoughts.

As the sound of running water filled the room again, Taehyung’s phone buzzed on the nightstand. He glanced at the screen and saw Jackson’s name. He answered, his voice steady as he greeted his friend.

“I’ve got them all,” Jackson said on the other end, his tone confident.

Taehyung nodded, even though Jackson couldn’t see him. “Good. We’ll be there in an hour.”

They exchanged a few more words before hanging up. Taehyung placed the phone back on the nightstand, his mind already racing with the day’s agenda. But there was something he needed to address before they left. Something that had been weighing on him for a while.

Jennie stepped out of the shower, steam billowing out behind her. She wrapped a towel around herself briefly before letting it fall to the floor as she started to get dressed. Taehyung couldn’t help but watch her, his eyes tracing the familiar lines of her body. She was stunning, the very image of grace and strength, but the scars that marked her skin were a constant reminder of the pain she had endured. Each one told a story—a time when he hadn’t been able to protect her, when she had suffered alone. But those days were over. He had vowed that no one would ever hurt her again.
