It was a calm morning in the house. Half of the gang was gathered at the dining table, waiting for the others to get ready and come downstairs. The chatter was lively, but Rosé was unusually quiet. Her attention was glued to one of the guards standing by the doorway.
He was new or at least new to her and she found herself intrigued. His sharp features and calm demeanor made him stand out. Nudging Jisoo, who was seated beside her, Rosé whispered, “Who’s that?”
Jisoo glanced up briefly before returning to her plate. “Oh, him? He’s one of the guards. You probably don’t recognize him because he’s usually stationed at the office. Plus, he always wears a mask when he's working the front door.”
Rosé nodded but kept staring. The guard, as if sensing her gaze, glanced back and offered her a small, polite smile. Rosé’s heart skipped a beat, and she was about to smile back when
Cue Jimin.
The overprotective older brother caught the interaction instantly. His piercing glare shot across the room, and the poor guard, clearly intimidated, immediately averted his eyes and focused on the wall.
Rosé let out a frustrated sigh, muttering under her breath, “Really, oppa?”
“What was that?” Jimin asked, raising a brow.
“Nothing,” she replied, stabbing her scrambled eggs with a little more force than necessary.
Soon everyone was seated, breakfast was served, and the table erupted into casual conversation. Between mouthfuls of food, Taehyung cleared his throat to grab everyone’s attention.
“by the way everyone” he announced. “Jackson is coming over later.”
“Oh, great,” Jungkook said sarcastically, clearly still holding a grudge against Jackson for winning their last poker match.
Taehyung smirked at Jungkook’s response but continued, “And, Mingyu, he’s bringing his niece along. She’s around your age.”
Mingyu paused mid-bite. “His niece?”
Taehyung nodded. “Yeah. Be nice.”
Mingyu shrugged, clearly not too interested, and the group returned to eating. However, Lisa, unable to resist teasing mingyu, leaned over and whispered, “Better make sure you don’t embarrass yourself in front of her.”
“Why would I?” Mingyu replied defensively, his cheeks turning pink.
Jungkook chimed in, smirking, “Knowing you, you’ll trip over your own words. Or, better yet, over your own feet.”
The table burst into laughter as Mingyu groaned, burying his face in his hands. Meanwhile, Jimin leaned closer to Rosé, speaking quietly.
“About that guard earlier...”
“Oh, for heaven’s sake, Jimin!” Rosé hissed, glaring at her older brother.
“I’m just saying,” Jimin replied, taking a sip of his coffee. “I have eyes everywhere.”
Rosé rolled her eyes but didn’t argue further. After all, this was the usual chaos of their mornings filled with banter, protective siblings, and the occasional harmless crush.
