Jennie was brushing her hair in front of the mirror while Taehyung was busy by the dresser, stuffing his suit jacket with more knives and guns than usual. Martin and Marvin were out to get him and he needed to be safe. He had his routine—always prepared, always focused. Jennie, noticing his movements out of the corner of her eye, paused. She put down the brush and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his waist from behind.
Taehyung glanced back, sensing her unease. “What’s wrong my love?” he asked in his usual calm tone. Jennie didn’t say anything at first; instead, she gently turned him around to face her, eyes full of worry.
“Are you going to be okay tae?” she finally asked, even though deep down, she already knew the answer. Taehyung was strong, fierce, and practically invincible when it came to the streets. But still, she couldn't help the anxious knot forming in her stomach.
Taehyung smiled slightly, his hands resting on her waist. “I’ll be fine. Don’t worry about me.”
He kissed her forehead reassuringly, then looked into her eyes. "But I need you to promise me something," he added, his tone turning more serious. “Don’t leave the house. You, the girls, and the kids—stay inside. We can’t afford any surprises.”
Jennie nodded. “I won’t. I’ll keep everyone safe.”
“And keep an eye on Rosé,” Taehyung said, his brow furrowing slightly. “We don’t want her trying to pull off anything like last time.”
Jennie sighed, recalling the last incident where Rosé tried to sneak out to go to the convenience store, something Jimin had been furious about. And something that had the gang worried sick. “Don’t worry, I will,” she promised.
Satisfied with her answer, Taehyung gave her a lingering kiss before they headed downstairs for breakfast.
When they entered the dining room, the gang was already seated, and Mina looked a little out of sorts. She was tired, but at least she looked a bit better than she had in the last two days. The girls immediately asked her how she was feeling, and Mina, with a small voice, said she was okay, though everyone could tell she was still recovering. The gang had made every effort to make her comfortable, and it was working, little by little.
As they started to settle into breakfast, the boys suggested the girls and kids keep busy with some activities at home. “We’ll have the guards get you anything you need,” Hoseok said, waving his fork dramatically. “Seriously, anything.”
The girls chuckled, exchanging glances. “Maybe we could have a movie marathon or something,” Jisoo suggested, nodding toward Rosé, who was already halfway through her coffee.
“Sounds like a plan,” Jennie agreed, smiling softly as she took her seat next to Taehyung. Mina and Mingyu also nodded, though Mina looked a little more skeptical than excited.
Then, the maids came in with breakfast, but something was different. The gang were served their usual: fluffy eggs, crispy bacon, and steaming cups of coffee. Mingyu had his orange juice, looking content with it, but when Mina saw her plate, she frowned.
Instead of the hearty breakfast the others were enjoying, she had a bowl of yogurt with a side of fresh fruit. Her tiny face scrunched up in frustration. “Why do I have to eat this?” she whined, crossing her arms.
The gang exchanged knowing glances, clearly ready for this reaction. “The doctor said you need to eat healthy to get better little one.” Namjoon explained patiently.
Mina, however, wasn’t having it. “But I want bacon and eggs like everyone else!” she said, her voice getting louder. A tantrum was on the horizon.
