It was finally the day of the ceremony.

I had an almost sleepless night, my thoughts went all to Kayro, who yesterday barely exited his room.

He didn't let me in, didn't let me help him with anything, just opened the door to receive food and that's it. Even Her Highness, Lady Mylla, was concerned about him, but it was only so much we could do.

Opening my eyes, I was standing in my bed and looking at the ceiling. It was an activity I often did lately, because I felt so useless. My mood was so down I could barely meditate, not being able to clear my mind most of the times.

The awkward relationship between Kayro and Victoria was going strong, the ignoring relationship I mean, still not in speaking terms from Victoria's part, but it was taking a tall on Kayro.

I knew, that deep down, he was very worried. That little sample I was given, as his father called it, was Kayro's main concern. I knew he was afraid that the soon to be king would punish a lot more slaves like that, or worse, if he doesn't marry Victoria, and he really tried not defying his fathers's order, but this lady was making things very difficult, unnecessary.

I couldn't for the life of me understand why she was acting that way, but the level of concern I had regarding Kayro was extremely high. I knew he was not well, he started having dark circles around his gorgeous eyes, his skin was starting to get paler, almost sickly, his body posture was like he was defeated by this unexpected twist of fate. I felt horrible and I really didn't know what to do.

Taking a deep breath I push myself out of bed and as much as I don't like it, I have to make an effort to get to Kayro and start preparing him for the evening, it was important for him to be at his best...or as best as he can be, given the circumstances.

It was very early in the morning, but the castle was more alive than ever, everyone had a lot of things to do, and so did I.

I had a quick breakfast, a short cool shower and got ready for the day. After a few deep breaths and I little pep talk, I was determined to not let Kayro down and whatever it is, I will be there for him.

Silently opening the door of his room, I see a few strands of hair peaking from his sheets. He must have had another restless night, because his bed was a mess. This scene was repeating itself almost daily now for the last two weeks. Poor Kayro, I wished I could help him somehow and be his happy, smiley self again.

I carefully go to him, and with a gentle touch on his covered back I just caress it and tell him "Good morning, Kayro!" And I continue after a couple of seconds "It's a beautiful morning, how about we enjoy it at a cup of coffee together?" I tried convincing him. We often had coffee in the mornings, he really liked the aroma. For me was not impressive, but this morning habit was growing on me and I started to really look forward to it.

From beneath the sheets I could only hear little groans and that made me giggle. At this point, I had no more working mask around Kayro and I even thought of taking things a little bit further, if he would let me, of course.

"Come on, sleeping beauty!" I added. "I even brought chocolate cupcakes, with raspberry filling. I know you love them with coffee.

"Now that sounds really good" I hear a little voice for underneath all that cloth and a body started to move.

Easily, but surely, Kayro emerged. He was naked, this being his sleeping attire lately and I wasn't complaining, he was very good-looking and he knew it.

Until he stretched a little I went and prepared the bath for a shower and returned to the room to make the bed untile he finishes washing himself. His sheets are a mess, he sure sweats a lot during the night, I have to change them, again. The stress he's going through is a lot, I shouldn't be surprised with this. The bed is clean by the time he finishes and enters the bedroom all dressed up.
