Calum

I fucking hate this!

We were standing in the main room at our Head Quartes, where Corvinus was supposed to come and fils us in with our newest missions and hand them to us.

But that bastard was nowhere to be found. I had places to be, people to save, people to kill and this shit was keeping me from doing that.

I fucking hate them! Thankfully I will leave it all behind very soon, I just have to be a little patient and I would be just that, if these stupid fucks would actually to their job.

I huff and I puff internally, because on the outside I am made of stone. I will never let them see me, read me, feel me. They are not worthy of my trust, time or energy. I only do this because I have to, my voice has never let me down, never once made a mistake. My voice told me to do this and I trust it with my life.

Corvina storms into the hall, fuming. I could see the rage in her eyes, because they, unlike me, are like opened books, I know all their weaknesses, but not the other way around.

"I have bad news! It seems my idiotic brother lost a bet last night and now he is missing, might be laying around dead in some ditch. If we are lucky, we find him still alive in that ditch! But I will kill him after, that stupid retard! Ugh!!! He drives me mad!!!" she rants furious, pacing in the hall while flailing her hands like a crazy person.

She is crazy! I say.

Definitely! Mr. T agrees.

I zone out of that conversation, I have my own problems, that imbecile's fate is none of my business....until...

"Calum! You will go and find him!" I hear Corvina suddenly ordering me, her long, carefully manicured finger pointed at me. Looking at her furrowed face, She is ugly as fuck as it is, when she's angry it's worse, I don't understand how it's even possible. Bleah! , I know I have no escaping! If it's one thing you can bet your life on, it Corvina getting her way.

And I know that because, unlike her brain dead twin, I pay attention.

"Can't" it's all I say.

Her gasp is so funny. I know I can't say no to her...yet, but I like messing around. They are all so easy to mess around with.

"I didn't ask you if you want or can, Calum! I just informed you." she clarifies, as if I cared, but I let her feel important. "He was last seen at The Clover Inn. You don't return without him, dead or alive." is all the information I'm given and then she leaves slamming the door.

Just get laid, you'll feel better, you crazy witch! I try giving a friendly advice, mentally of course, they don't deserve my wisdom.

I internally sigh, because this is the worst timing, but with a little bit of luck I may make it in time.

Let's go to The Clover Inn then, the place best known for illegal betting, fighting and trafficking of all kinds. For us, mercenaries, it's not a dangerous place, but it can become one, if you don't follow the rules.

There are rules everywhere, it doesn't matter if you are a good guy, bad guy, a toddler, a poney or a fucking frog. Now, if you are stupid, like our Corvinus is, you start to believe you are above the rules and then you end up in a ditch with three zucchini up your ass as a consequence.

I hope he is dead...with four zucchini! I mentally pray.

Because I have some very important things to attend to, and people that actually matter to save, I try and hurry to get to the inn. And lo and behold, nobody says anything, they saw nothing, heard nothing, they don't even know Corvinus if I insist with questioning and I do, because, I have a very handy ability they don't know about... I can tell when they are lying.
