Chapter 5

Dino was not happy to go shopping with Luca. He had never gone shopping with anyone before. Dino got some money twice a year from the Johnsons to buy clothes. So he went shopping alone to buy them. The money was not enough to buy everything Dino liked. So he had to buy only the essentials. Dino had never been able to purchase trendy clothes like the other kids. So he didn't have cool friends.

The Johnsons were not happy to spend that much money on Dino. But they didn't want to show others that they didn't care about their foster son. So, although they didn't like to spend money on him, they had no choice.

Luca and Dino got into one of the SUVs, and Dino still couldn't believe what was happening. No one explained why he was there, and they kept telling him this was his home. Dino liked to live in this kind of home. But he wanted to know the details.

Dino wondered if his foster parents were looking for him.

'Maybe they are happy that I'm missing. They don't have to spend money on me anymore,' Dino thought.

Meanwhile, in the Johnsons' house...

"What do we do now, Robert? What do we do? He's gone. He's gone," Mrs. Johnson screamed at her husband.

"Did he run away? Why the hell didn't you keep an eye on him? You are staying at home doing nothing. At least you have to keep an eye on that boy, you bitch," Mr. Johnson said, and Mrs. Johnson's mouth opened in surprise at how her husband talked to her right now.

"What did you call me, Robert? Did you call me a bitch?" Emily shouted at Robert.

"You are lazy. You can't even protect that boy. You can't even cook well. The food you make tastes like shit. Only I do everything in this house," Robert said to Emily.

"If I am a bitch, you are a dog, Robert. You don't even earn enough money. You are the lazy, useless man in this house. I do all the household stuff, and I was the one who decided to keep that boy so we could have some real money. If I hadn't made that decision that day, do you think we'd be able to have this comfortable life with your little money?" Emily screamed at Robert.

"Yeah, it was all your idea. So why didn't you keep an eye on him? Now he's run away from home. What the hell are you going to say to that creepy-looking woman?" Robert asked angrily.

"I don't know. Am I the one who should do everything? Just go like a real man and find him, you lazy ass," Emily screamed at Robert.

Dino and Luca shopping....

Dino looked around the shop with surprise. It was a shop where only wealthy people could buy stuff. He never thought he could buy things from this kind of shop in his entire life. Everything looked luxurious and expensive. Dino looked at Luca with excitement as if Luca was the one responsible for this. Luca gave a little smile to the excited kid.

"You look happy," Luca said.

"Yeah," Dino said, looking around.

"Boss, don't behave like that. Just act normal," Luca said to Dino, and Dino's smile faded away.

"What?" Dino asked with surprise.

"You know, you looked stupid when you looked around like that," Luca bent a bit towards Dino and whispered. Dino blushed with embarrassment.

"Okay, fine. I came to this kind of shop for the first time," Dino said, a bit irritated. Luca looked at Dino as if to say, "Not my problem."

"I don't know what I should buy," Dino said, looking at the prices of the clothes. He was not sure whether he should buy such expensive stuff.

"Just buy everything that fits you, and after you go home, you can select what you like. We can return the ones you don't want to wear," Luca said.

"Do I have a limit to buy clothes?" Dino asked.

"No, just buy what you want," Luca said. "Here's the card. Spend all the money if you want," Luca said, handing a card to Dino. Dino saw that it had Pietro's name on it.

Dino took the card and stared at it for a few seconds. "Well, okay then. I'll buy everything I want," he said and started to buy everything he liked like crazy.
