Background: JJ grew up in Seoul, South Korea as the youngest of two. One day while he was snooping around his parents' room, he found his dad's old rap albums and as he started listening to them, his passion for music grew. As he grew older, he started performing in school talent shows, later performing as an underground rapper after graduating high school. One day, while he was performing as an underground rapper, he was scouted by Pinky Entertainment. At first, his parents didn't approve because they wanted him to go to college, but seeing how much their son wanted this they approved and he's been training ever since.
