~Irene's POV~

All day I had been watching Ryo from afar as he enjoyed his birthday party. He was an extrovert so a big party like this was his thing. It wasn't mine. Although I had been trying to talk to him all day, I never got the chance. Because of this, my mood was kind of somber and I wanted to go home. I found my brother so he could walk me.

"Can you walk me home?" I asked him.

Alan looked at the time on his watch. He clicked his tongue.

"It's only 3:00." He said.

I just shrugged. "Not feeling well."

Alan sighed then nodded his head. "Okay but let me at least say goodbye to the birthday boy and then I'm going to go to the bathroom."

"Okay, I'll be waiting by the door." I told him then walked off.

I headed to the door and leaned against the wall, scrolling through TikTok as I waited for my brother. Before too long, someone approached me, and it wasn't Alan.

"Alan told me you two were leaving." I looked up to see Ryo, and I could tell he was a little tipsy. "You haven't spoken a word to me all day and you're just going to leave my party early and still not even say goodbye?! I thought you were different Irene."

He shook his head and tisked but had a grin on his face. I couldn't tell if he was actually mad or just messing with me.

"I wanted to but you were so busy with everyone else." I told him. "I didn't want to ruin that."

"Oh please!" He exclaimed, the alcohol taking control. "If you really wanted to see me, you would have done so. I'm seeing now that my choice of coming to RC for you means absolutely nothing, doesn't it?!"

He laughed menacingly as I thought about his words. He joined RC for me? What does that mean?

"But half of Leg10nds joined RC." I replied.

"Only after I did." He said in a sing-song voice, dancing around in a circle.

"You...you joined RC for me?" I mumbled.

Ryo rolled his eyes and wagged his hand as if to tell me to forget it. "Just forget it, Irene. I hope you have a blessed night."

Ryo turned on his heels and stumbled away, dancing with some members close to him. As I was still waiting for Alan, I saw Michael pass by me.

"Michael oppa!" I grabbed his wrist to stop him.

He turned to me with a questioning look. "Yes, Irene?"

"Was Ryo the first of you to join RC?" I asked.

Michael nodded with no hesitation. "He knew right away that's what he wanted."

"Do you know why?"

Michael just gave me a soft smile. "I think you should ask him that yourself."

I nodded, kind of already knowing the answer based on Michael's response and Ryo's drunk statements. "Thank you."

Michael nodded with a smile before walking away. That's when Alan finally approached.

"Ready?" He asked.
