Liliana's POV

As we gathered in the living room for another K-drama night, Luana had claimed the prime spot directly in front of the TV, eyes glued to the screen.

On the show, the male lead was holding the female lead's wrist, pleading desperately, "Not until you hear me out. Don't leave." She pulled her wrist free, tears brimming in her eyes. "No," she shot back, "a devilish man like you would charm me into submission."

Mariah, sitting next to me, tossed a piece of popcorn into her mouth and chuckled. "I never thought I'd be watching K-dramas without subtitles and actually understanding them."

"Me neither," I replied, munching on some popcorn of my own. "Turns out this is the easiest way to learn the language."

Eliška strolled in, joining us on the couch with a sarcastic grin. "Yeah, let's just keep making excuses for skipping our Korean lessons today."

"We're not skipping," Chloe piped up from beside Eliška, lounging casually. "We called in sick."

"All six of us?" Eliška raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it.

Chloe shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, the flu. It’s a very contagious illness, you see."

"Right, spare me the bullshit," Eliška retorted, rolling her eyes. But then she noticed Luana, still planted way too close to the TV, eyes wide as the female lead on screen unleashed a tirade on the male lead.

"Luana," Eliška said, leaning forward, "I'm pretty sure my elementary school textbook was right when it said sitting too close to the TV is bad for your eyes."

But Luana was too absorbed in the drama to care. "She talks a big game, but she'll still end up giving in to him," she muttered, pointing at the screen.

"Right?!" Mariah agreed, turning to Eliška. "By the way, did you do computer classes in elementary school? I thought all we did was learn ABCs and sing rhymes."

"Your memory is crap. That was preschool," I chimed in.

"That’s still a lot for 10-year-old me to remember," Mariah mused. "Wait, did we do math in elementary school?"

"Yup," I nodded. "And quantitative reasoning too."

"Wow," she said, her attention drifting back to the screen.

Suddenly, Chloe sat up, almost spilling her drink. "No way! They can't end up together!"

Min-su entered the room, her messy bun and baggy T-shirt signaling that she had no plans of leaving the house anytime soon. She leaned over Mariah, lollipop in her mouth, and asked, "What’s the title?"

Mariah shrugged. "No idea. Just know it's a romance drama."

"They fight too much," Chloe muttered. "There's no way she'll stay with him."

Min-su raised an eyebrow, exuding confidence. "She'll stay. Trust me."

Eliška looked skeptical. "You just got here. How are you so sure?"

Min-su smirked. "For one, I’m Korean. I know my K-dramas. This is a classic trope—fight, fall, kiss, fall in love. It’s practically a guarantee."

"You can see it in their eyes," Luana added, still riveted by the screen. "They’re in love."

Mariah snorted. "I see hatred, mate."

"Just watch," Min-su said, her eyes twinkling.

On screen, the female lead started to storm off, but the male lead grabbed her hand, pulling her back with just a bit too much force. She stumbled, crashing into him, and they both tumbled to the ground, their lips colliding in an accidental, dramatic kiss.
