We stepped out of the elevator, and I immediately felt the change in atmosphere. The hallway was sleek, with polished floors and soft lighting that gave everything a sophisticated glow. I couldn't help but feel like we were walking into something far grander than a normal hotel room.

When Chan opened the door to the suite, I nearly gasped. The space was breathtaking. The living area was vast, with walls of glass giving us an incredible view of the city skyline. Everything about the room screamed luxury-designer furniture, marble countertops, and a sense of opulence that made my stomach flutter. This was no ordinary hotel room; this was a penthouse.

I blinked, still taking it all in, and turned to Chan. "This is a penthouse, right?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "I thought you said it was 2k a night, but this... this is way too big for that."

Chan gave me a sly look, leaning against the doorframe as if it were no big deal. "The receptionist probably quoted 2k because he assumed you wanted a standard room," he said with a shrug. "I booked the penthouse. It's actually 5k a night."

The words hit me like a punch to the gut. "5k?" I repeated, blinking in disbelief. I tried to wrap my head around it, but I couldn't.

Chan just smirked, not offering much of an explanation. "I thought you'd prefer the penthouse."

I stood there, trying to process everything. "Chan, this is... it's too much," I said, my voice quieter now. "You didn't have to go all out like this. It's way more than I expected."

He looked at me for a moment, his expression unreadable, before asking, "Do you like it?"

I hesitated, taking in the sheer luxury around me. Of course, I liked it. Who wouldn't? "I love it," I said, glancing back at him. "But Chan-" I started, my words trailing off as he took a few steps toward me, closing the distance between us.

His presence suddenly felt overwhelming, his gaze steady and intense. He didn't say anything, just stood there, a mere breath away, as if waiting for me to finish my sentence.

I swallowed hard, trying to push past the wave of unease that was creeping up on me. I could feel the tension building between us, but all I could think about was the luxury surrounding me. It felt like too much-too grand, too perfect for someone like me.

Chan's hand slid around my waist, pulling me in closer, and I froze. My breath caught in my throat as his warmth enveloped me, and I could feel the steady thrum of his heartbeat just inches away. The space between us seemed to shrink with every passing second, the air thick with tension and something more-something undeniable.

"Chan..." I whispered again, but my words seemed to get lost in the air.

He finally spoke, his voice low and smooth. "You don't have to worry about it. It's just a room. Nothing more."

He leaned in slowly, his face inching closer to mine, and for a moment, I thought he was going to kiss me. My heart pounded in my chest, every nerve screaming as his breath brushed against my skin. I couldn't move, couldn't think. All I could focus on was the magnetic pull between us, the way his touch felt as though it had been waiting for this moment.

Then, just as I felt the heat of his lips near my ear, he whispered, his voice a low, tantalizing murmur that sent shivers down my spine.

"Shower. We're going to the pool bar and restaurant to eat and relax."

His words were laced with a calm command, but there was something more in his tone-a promise, perhaps, of something I wasn't sure I was ready for. His hand lingered on my waist for a moment longer, his touch gentle yet firm, before he finally stepped back, leaving me breathless and disoriented.
