Liliana's POV

The next day started like any other Tuesday-late rehearsals, tired limbs, and my usual habit of avoiding Chan like he carried the plague. But fate, as always, had other plans.

I wasn't even supposed to be at that restaurant. Mariah had insisted I grab lunch with her, but at the last second, she bailed to handle some "urgent" issue with Luana and Lulu. I was halfway through my plate of pasta, picking at the sauce, when the bell above the restaurant door chimed softly.

A part of me knew it was him before I even looked up.

Bang Chan stood at the entrance, scanning the room. He was dressed casually-black hoodie, joggers, and his cap pulled low like he thought he could disappear into the shadows. Spoiler: He couldn't.

His eyes landed on me, and for a split second, I saw his surprise. Then, that familiar smirk crawled onto his face as if he'd just been handed the best opportunity of the day.

"Liliana," he greeted, sauntering over like this was planned. "Didn't expect to see you here."

I looked up, unimpressed. "The feeling's mutual."

He ignored the jab, pulling out the chair across from me and dropping into it without so much as a, 'Can I join you?'

"Eating alone?" he teased, resting his chin in his hand.

"And you're talking to me because...?" I shot back, twirling my fork in the pasta.

"Because you look like you'd be fun company."

"You need better taste."

He grinned. "Trust me, I've got excellent taste."

I rolled my eyes, trying my best to focus on my food and not the way his voice made my skin heat just slightly. Chan had a knack for invading my space and making himself comfortable, like he owned the world and I was just along for the ride.

"You're awfully quiet today," he continued, his tone casual but too observant for my liking. "Thinking about me, maybe?"

"Please." I scoffed. "You're about as memorable as an expired carton of milk."

Chan clutched his chest in mock offense. "Ouch. That hurt."

"Good."

A small chuckle escaped him, low and rumbling, and I hated the way it made me want to smile. "Alright, you win. No more teasing... for now."

"Great. Bye, then." I gestured to the exit.

"Not so fast," he said, sitting up straighter. "I actually have a proposition for you."

I arched an eyebrow, suspicious. "Proposition?"

Chan flashed a boyish grin that should've come with a warning label. "How do you feel about Jeju Island?"

I blinked. "Jeju Island?"

"Yeah." He leaned back, his gaze unwavering. "I've been dying to go. So, I thought... why not invite you?"

I stared at him as though he'd just asked me to sprout wings and fly. "Why would I go anywhere with you?"

"Because," he said smoothly, "it's the perfect place to unwind. We'll leave this evening, come back tomorrow night. One night away, no strings attached. Just two people enjoying the beach, good food, and a change of scenery."
