Chan murmured her name, his voice barely audible over the bass-heavy music. "Mariah."
Her lips curled into a sly smile as she glanced around the table. "Nice to see you guys too," she said, crossing her legs and leaning back comfortably.
Jeongin frowned, his confusion obvious. "Uh, what are you doing here?" His tone bordered on rude, but he didn't care to hide his suspicion.
Mariah didn't flinch. Instead, she gave a soft chuckle and threw him an amused look. "Well, hello to you too, Jeongin."
Chan shot Jeongin a warning glance. "She's a friend. Be nice."
Mariah's smile widened as she cast a smug glance at Jeongin. "Thanks, Chan. Anyway, I was supposed to meet some Australian ladies I met online, but they're running late. Saw you guys and thought, why not join you in the meantime?"
Changbin raised an eyebrow, clearly skeptical, but said nothing. Jeongin muttered under his breath, earning himself another glare from Chan.
Mariah turned to Chan, resting her chin on her palm. "So, what's new with you? Still caught up in all that drama with Liliana, or have you moved on?"
Changbin snorted before Chan could respond. "Chan was just saying he's done with her. Ready to leave it all behind."
Mariah's eyebrows shot up. "Really?" Her voice carried disbelief. She leaned forward, narrowing her eyes at Chan. "Did you actually try to talk to her? You know Liliana better than that. Do you honestly think she'd go to some club just to meet random guys? And more than one? Come on."
Chan shifted uncomfortably, avoiding her piercing gaze. "It's not that simple-"
Mariah cut him off with a dismissive wave of her hand. "It is that simple. You're making excuses."
The tension in the air was palpable as Chan struggled for a response. Mariah, however, didn't wait for one. She turned to Changbin abruptly, her tone shifting to something lighter. "Speaking of relationships, what's your type, Changbin?"
Changbin blinked, caught off guard. "What kind of question is that?"
Mariah laughed awkwardly, brushing a strand of blue hair behind her ear. "Is it random? I mean, maybe a little. Just curious... for a friend."
Changbin squinted at her, clearly not buying it. "I'm not really looking for a relationship right now."
Mariah's laugh came out a little too loud, betraying her nerves. "Oh, so you just want to gain all that muscle and keep it to yourself?"
Changbin smirked, relaxing slightly. "I've got Stay to admire it."
Mariah rolled her eyes dramatically. "Right, but when are we going to see those abs?"
Jeongin interjected, his tone teasing. "So you came here for Changbin, huh?"
Mariah's cheeks flushed as she quickly shook her head. "No! Of course not. I came to, uh, check on Stray Kids-and to knock some sense into Chan here." She glanced at Chan, who was still stewing in silence, then back at Changbin. "But seriously, Chan. I'll admit, I didn't like you at first because of all the trouble you caused for Liliana. Realistically, you two shouldn't be together. But I can't deny the chemistry. And after hearing about that trip? I'm kind of jealous. She's lucky to have someone who would go all out like that."
Changbin glanced away awkwardly as Mariah gave him a quick side-eye, clearly hoping for a reaction. He pretended not to notice, keeping his expression neutral.
