❝I'm going to kill your family when I find out who you are. ❞
╰┈➤ in which the not so anonymous Scaramouche of Teyvat high finds himself being texted by an anonymous stalker! Or maybe just a hopeless romantic...
Scaramouche had practically ran all the way home and shut himself in his room. As of right now, he's going through a crisis and has his knees pulled to his chest while he sits in the comfort of his room on his bed.
He wonders why he feels this way, so upset and distraught over something that should be so insignificant. However, no matter how he looks at it, it all seems to end up with the same result. Confusion and a feeling of abandonment and regret.
Scaramouche wonders why he feels this way. He had never even considered himself friends with Y/n, he was never even remotely interested in her. So, why does he feel so betrayed that something so important in her life was hidden from him?
The unfamiliar is something Scaramouche hates, and he hates his unfamiliar feelings too. His first instinct is always to try and ignore things that are foreign to him. The initial reaction is always to bury away all emotions and feelings until nothing remains. It's childish, but it seems that he's outgrowing that method. His pride is withering away slowly to reveal his true self.
A sensitive and hurt soul.
"Fuck, why didn't I realise...?" He mutters into the silence of his room. There's so many questions circling his mind, but one of the main ones is this. The same question is on repeat in his mind like a broken record.
That day...it seems so long ago but so vivid in Scaramouche's mind. He remembers it all too well. He'd let a small piece of his fragility be shown, his iron walls protecting his heart were lowered ever so slightly and it was enough for Y/n to temporarily get him to open up to her.
But when he showed his vulnerability...why hadn't she shown hers? Scaramouche revealed a part of himself to her that he'd hardly ever shown another person, and even when he blamed her for checking up on him, she had the opportunity to defend herself. She had the ability to tell him that his secret would be safe with her because she related...but she didn't.
Scaramouche wonders if this is because she wasn't as desperate or in love with him as he thought she was...or if it was because she too felt the same way he did; alone and discarded.
Was he the fool? Was he the one being played?
Scaramouche has never been able to understand why so many people liked Y/n, he hated her outgoing personality and ability to attract others. But now he realises that they're two sides of the same coin.
The both of them were flawed characters, people who had weaknesses, worries and carried chaos in their heart. But, they both coped differently.
Scaramouche was the type of person who hid from his problems and battled himself. His mind is a constant war zone with conflicting thoughts, each of them fighting against eachother. It's always the same overcomplicated, ridiculous stubborn outcome. It always shows his short tempered, crude behaviour seeping out from within himself.
Y/n in the other hand, was seen to handle things differently. Although the two were in the same situation, she was more rational and distant about it. She hid her problems behind her mask of indifference and extroverted behaviour, the traits Scaramouche hated so much about her. She kept it to herself and only allowed people to see what she wanted them to see. It's an unhealthy habit, but she preferred to avoid her problems and try to forget about them.
So the conclusion that Scaramouche can come to is that Y/n played a constant facade. She never revealed her true feelings. Scaramouche had assumed she held a special place for him in her heart and that she admired him deeply, which is why she pestered him...but that's apparently wrong. It must be wrong because despite how much she liked Scaramouche, it wasn't enough for her to put away that act of friendliness in front of him.
Letting out a sigh, Scaramouche decides to take out his phone and text the one person he knows he can trust, Kazuha.
