I didn't argue with him listening to everything he had to say, how she would beat him when they fucked, didn't want to be with him, they never even dated so he felt as if I shouldn't be upset about it. This girl didn't leave until recently, Lip and I had been together for a month now. That's what I couldn't stop thinking about "I um understand, I have to go get my house ready for her" I stood up awkwardly leaving "Y/N wait!" Ian cheered running up to me earning a pointed look from Lip. Ian gestured for me to go out the door as he followed me "I know this is a lot to deal with... besides our sisters being ha, ya know" I nodded feeling tears in my eyes, my gaming room was no long available to smoke in anymore and I didn't want to seem selfish about all the work I had to do soon. Ian looked at me his face falling seeing a tear run down my cheek "Listen it's not like he cheated it happened months ago" he expressed putting a hand on my shoulder "She just left, how do you know if he cheated? It's not like they did it here!" I sobbed scurrying down the stairs quickly.

I had to go to the store to get a mattress for Xan, she couldn't sleep in my bed and we had told DCFS that I had a separate room. Their first question would be "Why didn't you change the room for the girl?" I sighed as overthinking occurred. Was Lip staying loyal to me? This girl left a few days ago, but why? Is he cheating? Going over and over in my head repeatedly as I looked at the beds "Hello how can I help you?" a man with short black hair asked me, he wasn't as handsome as Lip he gave me a wink. I looked back at the mattresses "I'm looking for a twin sized bed?" he smiled understandably "Are you looking for the frame as well?" his head tilted as he inched closer to me "Yes it's for my boyfriends... foster child" I expressed his face fell as he took another glance at the merchandise before answering "This one is 150, it's really great I hear" he didn't sound as enthusiastic as he did walking up to me "Do you think it would be best for say... a teenager?" he rested his hand on one of the beds squeezing it "Yeah it depends whether they will like a soft or firm mattress, you should ask your boyfriend since he knows the kid better" he pointed out sounding more harsh with the last sentence.

I raised my eyebrows not sure how to react to this man being jealous, he's not my boyfriend and I'm a people pleaser. Visibly shaking I pulled out my phone "Your probably right" I told him stepping back dialing for Lip when he answered there was noise in the background sounding of children "Hey babe! You still out?" his voice full of hope. I smiled "Yes my love, I was wondering if she would like a firm or soft bed?" I asked loud enough for the guy to hear "Give me a sec" muffling rushed against my ear, he was moving to ask her "She said it's in your best judgement, any bed you get would be better than the streets. Her exact words" I giggled getting a side eye from the worker "He's so funny" I said to him "Wait... who's there?" Lip asked actually sounding jealous as well "I'll tell you later" I felt him smile through the phone "I'll hold you up to that" "Alright I have to buy this bed, meet me at my house later tonight?" "We would be happy to" he chuckled at his own answer before hanging up "So?" the employee asked with attitude "I'm gonna need some time to choose, she said my best judgement" he sighed "You guys don't even say I love you, is it even serious?" I gave him a pointed look shocked by his question.

Taken back from what he said I shook my head in agitation "We just got together, it will be serious as soon as we do say that" he raised an eyebrow at how defensive I got "Just pick out a mattress" he scoffed walking away. I sighed in relief checking out each price and texture, I picked one out making my way over to the bed frames getting black because I didn't know her favorite color. I walked up to a woman working she seemed bored until she saw me "Welcome, is there something I can help with?" for a second I thought about ratting out that dude for creeping on me "I chose a mattress and frame, I'm gonna need it delivered by today?" she smiled at me "Of course I'm just gonna need some info" I secured both of the items being assured they will be dropped off in 2 hours. I went to a few other stores for sheets or anything else she might want/need. I noticed it was getting close to the delivery I carried my bags to the house, spraying the room, moving my weed stuff into my bedroom and anything else that isn't suitable for a kid.

I knew it wouldn't be easy taking care of Xan even if she was 10, kids are very difficult and I never really experienced anything like this. Time went by before I got a call "Hello is this Y/N L/N?" "Yes?" "This is regarding your delivery, it's out front" "Oh thank you!" I went out in a rush a van was there "Y/N L/N?" "Yes" they gave me a paper to sign as they brought the stuff up to my apartment "Nice place" they told me before leaving. I sighed putting it up in my gaming room, setting sheets and blankets before they got here. I hit my dab pen getting high before sitting on the couch and texting Lip "Hey I set up the room, let me know when you're on your way" I sighed getting on my Xbox to watch some shows trying to relax before my life changed, vaping and making sure it was safe for her. I even wondered if Lip would move in with me now that Xan would be staying here, but I knew he loved his family as well.
