The continuous beeping won't stop, so I turned off my phone and threw it on my bed. Tinatadtad ako ng tawag at chat ni River dahil simula kahapon ay hindi ko siya sinasagot.
He even visited my apartment last night, but I acted like I wasn't around. Masama ang loob ko dahil sa nangyari. A woman who's older enough to become his mother sat on his lap like an aged whore.

As I was trying to cool down myself at the veranda, my doorbell rang. I ran and checked the person through the peephole, then I saw a familiar face.
I rushed to open the door and said, "Mr. Lav, good morning! What are you doing here?"
He cleared his throat. "Good morning, Clayton. I asked River to call you, but he told me you're not answering. May problema ba kayo?"
Napakagat ako sa aking labi. "Wala naman po. Hindi ko lang siguro napansin na tumatawag siya."
"Since last night?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.
Napakamot naman ako sa aking ulo. "Ah... Opo. I'm just busy lately."
He nodded, but seemed he's not convinced with my alibi. "Anyway, dress up and come with me."
"Po?" nagtataka kong sabi. "Saan po tayo pupunta?"
"We'll go shopping," he answered. "I've been noticing that you're using the clothes that River gave you a multiple times."
"You noticed?" I asked. "Lagi po ba kayo sa campus?"
He shook his head. "Nope, but I asked someone to watch over you. Ang alam ng mga tao sa Rio Grande University ay anak kita, kaya dapat lang na malaman ko ang lahat ng nangyayari sa'yo."
"Gano'n po ba," mahina kong sabi.
"Yes. Besides, we need to be careful with Georgia," he said, making me confuse.
"Georgia? Sino po 'yon?" tanong ko.
"River's mother," he clarified.
"Kapatid niyo po?" tanong ko.
"Hindi," inis niyang sabi. "She is the wife of my late brother, Hector."
"I see," I mumbled.
"Georgia is busy with her job as a CEO, which put us in an advantage, pero hindi malabong makarating sa kanya ang ginagawa natin para lang pagtakpan ang issue niyo ni River."
I felt quite nervous about the information he gave me. "So what are we going to do, Mr. Lav?"
"Do as I say," he responded. "You need to avoid attracting suspicions so we could prevent making commotions. In order to do that, we need to buy more clothes for you."
