We went to Antario Salon for Clayton's makeover. It was one of Beatrix's family businesses. Si Mr. Lav ang nagpa-schedule sa salon kaya naman walang ibang customer bukod sa'min.
"Good morning, Mr. Salvatore," greeted Mia, the manager of the salon.
"Morning," I greeted and sat in the soft couch of the salon lounge.
Sinundan ako ni Clayton at naupo malapit sa aking tabi. Mabilis naman siyang nilingon ni Mia.
"Excuse me," she said, taking Clayton's attention. "Para lang sa mga customer ang lounge na ito. May waiting area kami sa labas para sa mga alalay."
Clayton's eyebrows arched, seemed he got lost for a moment. Magsasalita na sana siya, ngunit inunahan ko siya.
"He's not my alalay," I mumbled. "He's the one who needs a makeover."
Mia snapped him a look, as if she was judging Clayton's entire existence. May kaunting gulat sa kanyang mukha, ngunit napalitan naman ito na pwersahang ngiti.
"I see," she grinned. "My apologies, Mr. Salvatore."
I cleared my voice and gave her a bored look. "Can you start now? May iba pa kasi kaming lalakarin."
"Yes, Sir. We got this," she replied with confidence. Muli siyang lumingon kay Clayton na may bahid pa rin ng panghuhusga sa mukha. "Tara na, Sir?"
Hindi sumagot si Clayton at sumunod na lamang kay Mia papasok sa hair washing station. While waiting at the longe, another salon staff came and served me wine and strawberry tarts.
I enjoyed the red fruit wine while reading a magazine. From my position, I saw they transferred Clayton from the hair washing station to the styling area.
Muli kong ibinaling ang aking tingin sa magazine na aking hawak. Ilang oras pa ang lumipas ay lumabas na si Clayton at Mia.
"Mr. Salvatore, we're done," Mia voiced.
I wasn't looking at them, but when I stood to give my card, I stunned in surprise. Nakayuko si Clayton, ngunit kita ko ang pagbabago sa kanya. His wavy hair straightened in a side part style.
"Sir?" called Mia, which caught my attention. Saglit akong napapikit na para bang nagising ako sa isang panaginip.
