It's Christmas Eve and also my birthday. The Di Angelo Hotel was elegantly adorned with Christmas decorations. We decided to celebrate my birthday at Harris's family hotel because our hotel was under renovation.
The table was filled with delicious food and drinks, and the atmosphere was lively with the presence of many wealthy guests dressed in their finest attire, such as elegant dresses and tuxedos. The women shimmered in their beautiful gowns while men looked majestic in their suits.
"Happy birthday, bro!" Oswald greeted and offered me a fist bump.
"Thanks!" I responded.
"For you," said Alex while handing me a small box wrapped in a golden wrapper.
"You know you don't have to give me a present," I stated, but I took the gift anyway.
"I know," she replied. "It's Beatrix who insisted giving you a gift."
"Don't worry," Beatrix started. "This will be our last time giving you a gift. Isa pa ay hindi lang naman 'yan para sa'yo kun'di para rin kay Clayton."
"Why? What is this?" I asked.
"A house key," she answered. "We bought a house at New Zealand. Nag-ambagan kaming lahat para dyan."
"What?" I reacted. "Why would you do that?"
"Because Beatrix is an overthinker," Daven said and leered. "Para raw mayroon kayong mapuntahan kung sakaling gusto niyo ng magtanan ni Clayton."
"Hmm?" I voiced.
Mabilis na hinampas ni Beatrix si Daven at lumingon sa ibang bisita sa paligid. "Huwag ka ngang maingay dyan. Baka may makarinig sa'yo," mahina niyang sabi.
Tumawa ng mahina si Thara at lumingon sa akin. "Alam namin kung anong pwedeng gawin ng Mom mo. We know that she could do something that would make you want to run away from her someday."
"She's right," said Alex. "Kaya habang maaga pa ay mag-isip ka na ng mga plano mo para sa sarili mo at para kay Clayton."
"Si Beatrix lang ba ang overthinker, o kayong lahat?" pabiro kong sabi.
"We're just concerned," said Alex flatly.
I nodded while smiling. "Thanks, then. By the way, where is Harris?"

My friends and I silently laughed as we watched Daven sulking like an annoyed kid. Not long enough, Harris and Clayton came along with Westley.
