I wasn't able to enjoy my breakfast because of my intense and awkward situation.

"I'll just call your manager and tell her the details of the wedding," Mom said while looking at Clayton.

"Okay, Mrs. Salvatore," Clayton answered. "Mayroon pa po ba kayong ibang kailangan?"

Umiling si Mom. "Wala na," sagot niya. "But please be prepared because it will be tiring and stressful on your part for sure. This will gonna be the biggest wedding event here at Rio Grande."

I could sense from my mom's tone that she's trying to be offensive, but Clayton remained firm with his expression.

"Don't worry, Ma'am, I'm thrilled to work with you as one of the organizers in your son's grand wedding," he said and flashed a confident smile.

Mom's eyes narrowed, and seemed she looked pissed with Clayton's aura. Behind my back, I was cheering and clapping because of the courage that Clayton was displaying before us.

He also gazed at me and Alex, and he smiled without any hesitation.

"No need, Mrs. Salvatore," Clayton rejected. "I have a few paper bills in my pocket to pay for taxi."

"Don't be ridiculous, Clayton," said Mom sarcastically. "People like you should not waste money for a taxi.

Clayton sniffed like a laugh. "Thank you for your concern, Ma'am, but if ever I ran out of money, I have my feet that I could use for walking, and if ever I have no food to put in my mouth, I could just sleep while dreaming about delicious food. I do it all the time. You should try it sometimes, Ma'am. It's fun!"

Mom's eyebrows drew together, and I could see how surprised she was by Clayton's statement.
