The following events consisted of you preparing to leave for district meet.
Doctor Esmy was generous in providing all the necessities required for you to travel. The funds for food, and all the tools you might need. The map and compass was the most important of all.
"Are you sure it's okay to store all of that in there..?" Lucius asks carefully. As you walk over your luggage, letting it absorb into your VOID body. Your bodily phenomenon, acting as your infinite storage. "We still haven't retrieved the plate you ate a few cycles ago.."
You did remember 'eating' one of their plates, when you were in the first stages of getting used to your new bodily functions. So you stick your hand into your belly, feeling around for the familiar material of the plate. Then pulled out a fork, a knife, and finally the plate. Still there was something missing... you dug around your little belly and pulled out a water glass.
Turns out it wasn't just the plate that got lost in your body.
Lucius was holding the lost and found items, recognizing the utensils that he hasn't seen in months. "You've proven me that your belongings are safe." He gently places the untensils on the table, "Good luck, Motty. Show them the might of Dirthmouth village!"
You nodded and hugged him, before departing to meet up with the champions.
The Nailsage led you to the well that led to the Connecting Crossroads. The place where you had that test of collecting lumaflies. Then he began briefing you more about the Crossroads. It was a place where bugs from different Villages entertwined. It was also the place with the right environment for big gatherings such as the District Meet Championships.
You pass by the village where you had camped for catching Lumaflies, the travel continuing into a tunnel.
You didn't have a good experience with cave the first time around, this place should've scared you. But the void entity has made your human emotions dormant when it needs to be.
When you exited the tunnel, you were met with an expansive cave that goes down deeper. Platforms hung in the air, supported by bulky chains.
You assumed a cave would be dark, not enough lights to lit up the huge cavern. But what met you was was quite the opposite. It didn't look like an underground, more like a stone carved sanctuary. It was no darker than being on Dirtmouth.
It wasn't quiet at all, more like the opposite. Bugs were bustling through markets and tunnels. Everyone was walking with purpose, jumping from platforms to another, yet not bumping into each other.
"Stay close." The Nailsage ordered, as he jumped onto a platform. The three of you followed quickly, while subtly trying to look around.
The air was thick with the murmur of trades and the clinking of tools against stone. "I thought this place would look gloomy," Oro comments, fascinated by the younglings running through the walls and tunnels. "like the village we last visited."
"It only makes sense for this place to be busy, brother." Sheo said, "It is where many villages gather."
The Dirtmouth Village consists mostly of disciplined and trained children. It was uncommon to see bugs with your size be so carefree.
"What do you think the other villagers are like?" Oro asked curiously.
"I have no idea."
"You'll see soon." The nailsage replied.
Then you went through a tunnel. A bigger one than most of the tunnels you saw. There were other bugs going through this one too.
"We're here!"
