THE door was easily broken down. surprisingly easy. almost too easy.

we rushed inside. he stood there, gun in his hand that was resting at his side. why wasn't he freaking out? why wasn't he scared for his life? wasn't he pissing his pants? i knew i'd be. hell, there wasn't anything worse than being cornered by dangerous (and handsome) men like these. well, maybe there was. there certainly was. but that's besides the point now.

his body was pressing against the window. in the middle of the room: a desk. a desk with something on it that could be alarming.

we aimed at him. "kill me and this bomb will kill you." he looked at the object on the desk. oh. that was alarming.

well, that was alarming. my dad waved a big red button around, as if to dare us to try and take it from him. we stared at each other. i exchanged looks with chan. fuck.

"to be honest, i don't even need to press that button. the bomb will explode the second you shoot." i saw that stupid smirk on his face. how much i hated, no, loathed it was indescribable.

just about every organ i had sank into my stomach. this was basically a death trap. no, this was one. he would never let us go-

"you can leave if you let me take y/n," mister cho announced and i swore his smirk looked just a tad bit more evil than it had before. the tension was unbearable. and i was so, so mad.

i clutched onto my top tightly. a bead of sweat that had formed due to the amount of stress was rolling down the side of my face. a few scoffs erupted.

"that's not going to happen, gramps," jeongin said what everyone was thinking. except me. i was struggling just a little bit. not because i wanted to be with my father, but because the obvious threat on that desk had put pressure on me. if i went with him, they would be fine.

it was hard, seriously. these guys had grown so close to my heart. i couldn't afford to lose any of them. especially not hyunjin. i hoped he was alive. i hoped they were treating him correctly and that it wasn't too severe. hopefully.

"oh. really?" he had the audacity to look disappointed. i took a step forward. "y/n, make yourself useful for once and come to me." he faked a sweet tone, which was ironic since his words did in fact hurt.

"you're not gonna do that y/n." lino grabbed my wrist, the others nodded. "you're a strong woman, and hyunjin needs you. you can't go." this was the first time he appeared to be cross with me.

"if i don't go you will die," i whispered for some reason. probably because my voice wasn't exactly stable at that moment. his grip tightened.

"please don't," seungmin almost begged. "i'd rather die than hand you over to that freak." said freak was patiently waiting for the decision. he knew he would win. of course he would.

i freed myself. to their horror, their words hadn't reached me. i was putting their lives above my own. i took a step forward, towards my father, who was already opening his arms to greet me. he blabbered something about how i was making the right decision.

another step. another one. an-

"i thought we agreed this wasn't going to happen," wooyoung said coldly as he dropped his gun. a bloodbath. a perfect head shot. and the man i was approaching laying on the floor. his target had gone limp in an instant.

"you just got us killed."

"..3.." something was counting down.

"..2.." it got louder.

"..1.." fuck. the bomb.

"critical condition." the nurse answered mingi when he asked how hyunjin was doing. "he's suffered a severe blood loss. we'll keep you updated."

mingi had to hold seonghwa's hand for comfort. usually the latter would be annoyed by that, but today it was okay. their clothes were covered in hyunjin's blood and to mingi it smelled like death. he had killed a lot of people before this, but this time it had struck a nerve.

hyunjin was currently under surgery. as soon as seonghwa and mingi had arrived with him, the hospital immediately took him to the surgery rooms. hyunjin had stopped breathing momentarily, inevitably scaring them. but then he was breathing again. it was faint, but there.

they were sitting in the waiting room, silence drowning them. none of them dared to speak until they received news. "your friend has woken up. you can talk to him, but remember to be very careful and don't touch any injured areas," the nurse told them, and both rushed into the room that hyunjin was laying in.
