BUSAN. yeah, we had definitely underestimated the task at hand. find a middle aged guy somewhere in these streets. he could quite literally be anywhere.
i worried. how would we find my dad? would we be fine? even though there we were many, i was still unsure of it.
as if felix knew exactly what my train of thoughts was about, he patted my shoulder. "don't worry y/n, we've got it." he showed me a thumbs up and i smiled at him, feeling a little better.
"by the way, what's that on your neck?" he asked suspiciously and i didn't even have to see what he was referring to. hyunjin had been too rough, even after i had told him to be gentle. i made a note in my head to talk about it with him. for now i had to somehow explain them without freaking felix out.
i told him i had slept weirdly last night, which not even i thought was plausible, but it was better than nothing. i sighed when i saw he didn't buy it, however i didn't say any more than that.

a big group entering a small bakery luckily wasn't drawing attention to us at all. it didn't matter that much though. hongjoong had said something about them not being as known here as in seoul, so they loosened up just a bit.
he offered to pay for everything, which made me wonder just how rich each one of the guys i was with was. if i were to pay, i most likely would have to take out a loan, especially after seeing the amounts wooyoung, mingi, and han had ordered.
i couldn't imagine how anyone could ever be that hungry.
i thought i saw the silver badge that people who were involved with my father wore somewhere in the crowd. looking to my side, i figured the way hyunjin was staring intently somewhere in the crowd of the many citizens on their way to work, he noticed too.
if we followed that person as the big group that we were, we could just walk around and scream 'hey, we're a mafia gang and currently we're on the search of a guy to kill him, please don't mind!'. instead, hyunjin grabbed my hand, pulled chan along who was just about to get another bite of his breakfast, and rushed outside.
"chan, one of them is here." he scanned the area before advancing a few steps. "let them know." chan nodded and quickly sent a text.
"i see the guy," i pointed out and we were quick to trail close behind with just enough distance.
one look to the other side of the street and i saw the rest of stray kids, and ateez.
wooyoung and mingi were talking, as if they were planning on their next step. wooyoung made wild looking hand movements and mingi nodded with a straight face.
i expected a lot, but mingi ambushing the guy before any of us had gotten closer never once crossed my mind. probably because ateez and stray kids have different methods.
twisting the guy's wrist, mingi pulled him to the rest, and we hurried to them. han stared at whoever was with us, wanting him to get to speaking. "so?"
he uttered an address. gosh, i almost felt bad. almost. all of my dad's men were traitors. must suck.
seonghwa and seungmin were ordered to stay with him, so now there were 10 of us remaining.
the address was only a few minutes from here and we didn't hesitate to head there. all of us wanted this to end so badly, so we were quite determined.
once we found the warehouse that belonged to the address, we were in within a few seconds. he hadn't learnt from last time, had he? i figured people didn't want to be seen with him anymore, especially since we would be making sure he wouldn't see the light ever again. even if it would be the last thing i would ever do.
we entered from different sides. when we were in, huge gunfire opened. hyunjin shielded me while firing precise shots. this was my turn to be useful too. without thinking too much, i pulled out my own gun and shot, propping it on top of his shoulder.
i saw his smile in the corner of my eye and he grabbed for my free hand, squeezing it reassuringly.
that was, until one bullet hit him.
