I think it was quite obvious that i wasn't going to talk to hyunjin right now. everyone here seemed to be even the littlest bit nice even though i haven't talked to all of them yet.
also, i felt like asking him about why he is the way he is would be inappropriate. i would be invading his privacy. not that i cared about him, it was just common sense. still, i was curious.
i looked over at him. he was currently talking to someone with brown hair. i couldn't see the person's face as their back was facing me. i tried listening in to their conversation, but all i caught was the word cats.
at first i thought i misheard something but they really were talking about cats. since these guys are some kind of mafia gang i would've expected them to talk about guns, their newest target or recent missions.
for a second hyunjin shifted his attention to me. he probably caught me watching them. his face features went from a bit soft to stoic as soon as his eyes landed on me. his gaze shot right through me once again. it was a chilling experience. how could one make you so uncomfortable and anxious without even doing much?
"y/n." it was han. when did he come up to me? i never noticed. "i hope you enjoyed the food i made. anyway, i'm gonna put this tracker on you, so we can make sure you aren't going anywhere." he kneeled down and wrapped the what i guessed was the tracker around my ankle. it had a mechanism that only allowed the device to be tightened, but never opened. in other words, i now officially had no more control over my own life as these assholes will be after me all the time.
"let's get going then. we have a lot to do. we'll meet up at the usual location. seungmin, you stay with y/n. make sure she doesn't try anything stupid." han announced and soon it was only seungmin and me in the house.
felix mouthed a quick goodbye before leaving with big steps.
this was an awkward situation. what felix had told me about this seungmin only made it worse. how do you get others to commit suicide with only words? no, i was being too gullible. that wasn't possible.
he also had brown hair, just like the guy hyunjin was talking to.
i quickly walked towards the door, wanting to leave this room quite badly. as soon as i grabbed the handle his voice echoed through my whole body. "don't even think about it. you're not allowed to leave until the others return. you better get back."
every single hair on my body stood up. his voice had a kind sound to it, but also a very stern one. that was what was so frightening about it. deciding not to speak, i made my way back, sitting down on my couch in defeat.
silence. no one spoke any more. it was suffocating and honestly, i couldn't bear it. striking up a conversation, i asked "where did they go?"
he was focused on the phone in his hands, rather than me. "finishing some business. another mission." he never even looked at me.
i muttered an 'ah', soon getting quiet again.
i couldn't help but wonder what kind of mission it was. what it was about? were they 'saving' another person? or are they killing others?
being deep in thought i almost missed seungmin's question. "do you know why you're here?" this time he looked me straight in my eyes.
i thought for a quick moment. "not really. i only know what chan told me a bit ago." he nodded and sighed.
"y/n, i'm not gonna give you details but you're not just a random victim of kidnapping. you don't know it, but you have a important role around here. lets say you're wanted by many. if you had stayed in the hands of mingi and his guys you would've been dead by now." when looking for something in his eyes that would tell me he was joking turned out to be unsuccessful, i gulped. hard.
this was a lot of information to take in. me? wanted? just a few days ago, my life was normal with all my friends and family around and now this. how long had the search for me been going on for? were these guys just trying to gain my trust in order to use me or kill me?
"for more information you should probably ask hyunjin. he knows about this stuff." i reluctantly nodded. why was it always him?

i had obviously passed out, because when i opened my eyes the sun was setting. a minute after i had woken up, the door to the living room opened and in walked the seven other gang members. they all looked fine, just hyunjin had blood all over his right hand. my eyes widened at the sight.
i stood up and walked up to him, shoving my inital thoughts about him to the side. "are you okay? does it hurt badly?" i looked at his hand, concerned. i couldn't believe i was really asking this. i guessed my will to help kicked in again.
he towered over me, staring at me. "stop caring." his voice was so cold, much worse than seungmin's could ever be. he shoved me to the side, walking forward without looking back.
he didn't show it, but his eyes said everything. they were so loud.
it was probably for the better if i let it go for now. the air was thick and i did not want to get involved any more.
i scoffed. when someone offers help you should accept it. he was being so incredibly rude, it was getting on my nerves. how can you even be so disrespectful? i was just trying to be nice.
this time it wasn't so hard to find my room. i entered, and to my surprise, there were new clothes laying on the bed.
i decided to call it a day. it was late anyway.
