"I can't wait.." i mumbled to myself. so close.

i stood in front of the tall white building. there was a car screeching somewhere on the highway, a car meowing in the bushes. faint conversations of pedestrians walking by, the cold wind gusting through the naked branches of the old trees.

the wind played with my hair and it caused me to shiver just a little. i had crossed my arms in an attempt of keeping myself warm. even though i was wearing a coat and a scarf, the chilling temperatures were still very much getting beneath the layers of clothing i was wearing. tomorrow i would wear something that would make sure i maintained a comfortable warmth.

but that was only a little thought i had in the back of my mind. i awaited a a moment that was about to come.

it was a late evening, a tiny layer of snow decorating my hair.

mingi and lino were in the car parked in the big parking lot. they were just as excited as i was.

then, just as i had grown just a tad impatient, the glass doors made way for the one and only person i had been waiting for. my eyes lit up when they took him in.

his head turned to both the right and left. his coat was a dark brown color, which somehow made him appear even more handsome than usual. most importantly though, he was well.

he was limping a little, seemingly not wanting to apply too much weight on his leg. then, finally, his dark eyes locked onto my frame. in just that moment, i felt myself forget about everything else.

"y/n. my girl." his voice was husky and rough, yet still smooth, in a way.

of course, it was hyunjin.

my feet dragged me to him immediately when i heard him speak. my mind didn't even have time to react. my body just did what it felt was right.

"hyune," i whispered his name while burying my face in his chest. i hugged him tight, as if promising to never let go. not in this lifetime, at least. he hummed in content and wrapped his arms around my waist as if i was the most fragile thing ever. he felt so soft, so comforting. so much like home.

i wished to stay like this forever. i never wanted to let go. one of his hands rubbed my back in a caring manner. the other one rose to the side of my face, making me look up at him. he was dashing, like always. his thumb swiped over my cheek. again. and again.

he smiled at me sweetly. it was the kind of smile he would show only me. it was his vulnerable side showing. "i could think about only you while i was in there, angel. only you," he said, making my heart flutter in my chest like crazy.

he closed the small gap between us, his lips meeting mine in a slow, meaningful kiss, like we were two pieces of a puzzle that fit so perfectly together. hyunjin let out a soft sigh.

i pulled back slightly, even though i preferred the thought of continuing this way more. "they're waiting." i pointed towards the parked car.

he looked away from me only briefly. "i want to go home," he eventually stated, his hand searching and soon finding mine. hyunjin laced his fingers with mine and i fell into step with him.

there was so much that was still left to do and was waiting for us, but for now, the peace was what all of us enjoyed most. maybe it was the calm before the storm, but i believed we could get through anything, as long as we stayed together.

this might just be the end of this story. the amount of time it took me to finally finish this is actually crazy. clicking the "completed" button when i publish this chapter is definitely going to stick with me.

this is the first book on wattpad that i actually managed to finished. i hope you at least somewhat enjoyed my work and weren't too annoyed by slow updates. i just couldn't find the motivation to write sometimes.

i recognize this is not the best read ever, but i tried.
