Lucy and the book of END

Demonic

Ezra's POV:

Everyone seemed busy recently, first Lucy started to disappear, then Natsu and then Gray seemed to be constantly thinking and snooping. She could feel something in the air but it was like they all knew something she didn't.

So when Natsu stood in front of the girls at the bar talking about the aura, she knew the whole guild could feel it. Something was very wrong.

SLAM

Gray barged through the doors infecting the whole guild with what can only be described as the presence of Zeref. It had her and everyone else on edge.

Master being called for jumped off the balcony within seconds. Where had Gray been, who was that and why would he bring the darkness here, Erza had so many questions.

Her instincts kicked in, transforming into her fastest armour she pounced before Gray, pointing a sword towards the person he held, the aura was just too dark... demonic even.

As Gray laid down the person she began to make out features, blonde hair, woman.

As the woman turned her head towards Erza all she could focus on was the grey eyes and dark veins running across her features. But even with all the changes she knew who this was, she loved her.

"LUCY" Erza screamed, her sword clattering on the floor. The whole guild gasped as she tried to help sit her up.

"Erza I know the atmosphere feels bad around me but be careful where you poke that thing." Lucy tried to chuckle but she sounded so weak, dying even. A book clutched so hard in her hands they were stark white.

Erza immediately felt someone next to her, she didn't have to turn, she could see his tears drop to the floor. Gazing up Erza watched the pink hair attempt to cover his eyes, but he seemed tranced staring at the book in Lucy's arms.

"Gray, what! I know the feeling of this magic, why can I sense him, Zeref!" Master questioned, his booming voice had the whole guild watching.

"Lucy please, let us help you with this, tell us all you know im begging you. Nobody will hurt him." Gray cupped Lucy's face as she cried tears of her own.

"I hope 'him' isn't who I can sense at the moment" Master bellowed.

Lucy's POV:

The whole guild looked to her for answers, she was in so much pain, her eyes scrunched.

Wendy sprinted over, her face must've painted her pain as Wendy began to heal her. Lucy knew it wouldn't work but it did ease off a little.

"Why won't my magic do anything!" Wendy cried out.

"It's okay Wendy ne, it feels much better than the previous pain I was in." Lucy spoke softly.

Lucy rose off the floor shakily, 'ahhhhhh' she thought so much pain. Her knees shook and she held a hand against her head with one eye closed, anything to feel like her head wouldn't fall off.

The guild gasped at the state she was in, she realised all other times she'd been here her gloves covered all the veins, but now they could be seen crawling from her fingertips all the way to her face and now even maybe across her shoulders.

"This was my fault, I rewrote one of Zeref's demon books. In no way to help him I promise. I tampered with darkness and left myself in this situation." And with that sentence she could feel the tenseness of the guild grow again. Some of the newer members even looked on in fear or distrust.

"Zeref is after me after this book, does anyone here have a magic sealing box?" Lucy begged the crowd. Lisanna immediately ran downstairs returning with a dark wooden box used for sealing magic items. Placing the book inside and shutting the lid the atmosphere of the air felt much less dark, it now only radiated off of her.

"Luce, why would you do this to yourself?" Natsu hugged her, she could tell he was hurt, she hadn't told him a thing, avoided him actually and then turned up in this state in Grays arms.

He walked her over to a chair in the middle, she had some explaining to do and only wanted to do it once.

"When Tartaros attacked, I saw Zeref mingle in the fight with Mard Geer and pick up the book. I'll get into why but I made Loke take the book to the celestial realm just as Zeref was teleporting."

"That's why I couldn't find you to heal you during their fight!" Wendy spoke up.

"I locked away the book in a similar box and continued to learn more about it over the next few weeks, Zeref never came to know I had it in that time, well as far as I'm aware."

"That's why we went to that library after that mission, you wanted demonic translations." Happy added.

"Why would you do all this without telling us? Telling me?" Natsu spoke lowly, hurt echoed in his tone.

"To protect you guys, I began to rewrite the book, the book of END." She couldn't finish what she was going to say as chatter broke out. She had just mentioned the most dangerous demon ever.

"We can't have that book here it's too dangerous." Droy shouted out.

"Why the hell would you get involved in that!" Vjeeta chorused with a few of the other guild members.

"I know the demon." Lucy spoke so quietly but realised the dragon slayers would still pick up on it, shit!

"You know the demon? You're protecting END? Wait do they know?" Gajeel shot out question after question projecting that she knew END to the whole guild.

"No they don't know, I've edited the book to protect them from Zeref and from themself. No matter the harm that comes to me." She spoke loudly without a wobble in her voice, this was something that would be unchanged, her resolve to protect him, Natsu. She didn't want to tell him his identity here, not like this.

All of a sudden Natsu began to ball his eyes out, collapsing beside her and enveloping her in a hug.

"Please don't do this Luce, I know now I've figured it out. I love you so much so please give me the box." Natsu begged clutching onto her so tight, he was never that dense. Nevertheless she was protecting this book.

"I'm sorry Natsu, I am done with the edits for now hopefully this pain goes away and the effects subside but I will not stop protecting this book." She spoke confidently holding Natsu close with the same strength in which he held her. He must've felt strange as she edited the book, he did mention feeling weird and wanting time alone. In all likeliness to protect her, even though it was her fault he felt that way.

"On that mission when you vanished in darkness." Ezra started.

"Zeref, he could sense the darkness you can all likely feel right now radiating off of me. He knew I was writing in his books, warned me to stop but also that he's an imminent danger to this continent."

"I've heard rumours of his plans, I kept them to myself for now, but if he told you himself then we need to prepare." Master spoke out, the guild began to look more anxious, Lucy already knew and could imagine her face when Zeref announced plans to take down not only her guild but Fiore.

"Come Lucy, Wendy, Gray, Natsu and Erza we have a lot to talk about. Droy please go ask for Porlyusica." Master began to head towards his office, Natsu scooped me up as we all followed in tow.
