Lucy and the book of END

Me a demon?

Natsu's POV:

The book enticed him and the feeling was starting to feel familiar. When he saw Lucy in the guild he panicked, the love of his life in agony, and thinking it's because of him. She didn't want to say but he could sense the heat and darkness. He felt it recently and it is what he could sense on her. The strange experiences must've happened whilst she was writing in the book. They must've coincided because Lucy was never with him when it happened. But him END, a demon? He didn't exactly feel evil. But he begged that Lucy was not hurt keeping this a secret and protecting him.

Pulling himself out of his thoughts he focused back into the room. Makarov sat down in front of team Natsu gazing towards them likely with a million questions of his own for Lucy. Dropping his eyes down he was met without the chocolate eyes that always sparkled, and instead pools of grey. Yet they still belonged to the girl he loved dearly. Lucy avoided his gaze and tucked her head towards his torso as he held her. She was weak but also fearful, he needed to know why, but he wouldn't be the one asking questions, yet they would give him the answers he needs.

"Lucy, Porlyusica is on her way, hopefully between her and Wendy we can heal you or take some of the pain away." Master said in a saddened tone. Natsu can tell it hurt him seeing one of his children in so much pain. He tightened his grip on his beautiful girlfriend, so much pain trying to protect him.

"I wanted to pull you into a room with just your team, hopefully feeling more comfortable to let us in and let us help you." Makarov continued.

Natsu couldn't take it any longer he needed to know.

"Luce, is it me you did this for? Am I.." he couldn't finish choking on a sob trying to keep his composure. He could be one of the worst creatures and tied to the most evil person in the world. "Am I END?" He got it out the tears falling from his face splashing onto her.

She looked up meeting his eyes, communicating everything he needed to know as fresh tears trickled down her cheeks. "I'm so sorry Natsu" she began to ball, reburying her face into his shirt.

He looked up through the tears expecting horrified faces, but he only saw shock. Maybe they just need a minute for it to sink in and they'd run for their life, Lucy would hate him for the pain she's already in. How could he, a regular mage who always strived to protect his guild, be one of Zeref's creatures.

"Natsu you knew?" Gramps stuttered out.

"No." Natsu looked down, placing Lucy on a chair beside him, as they both still cried. He was stressed, vexed and began to pace.

"Lately I've been feeling bursts of heat and darkness, I thought it was to do with the feeling that loomed over the guild which turned out to be Lucy." He said to the room but also to himself.

"It must have been while Lucy edited the book. Which I also need to know why?" Natsu finished spinning towards her.

"Why would you do this Luce, not tell me, get hurt for me, did I not have the right to know who I am. It was always going to hurt whenever you told me." Natsu got on his knees holding her hands. But all she could do was cry harder, which hurt him even deeper.

Lucy's POV:

"I know how I reacted to the news, I can see it on all your faces now." Looking around she could see Erza standing in the corner just observing, sadness reflected in her eye. Grey already being aware held a hand on Natsu's shoulder. "I can see it now in Grey but I wanted to protect him, and that involved more than just getting the book."

Master stared in shock still, the same sadness cast upon his face. His guild always did get wound up in the scariest adventures, heck Tartaros was not that long ago.

He cleared his throat catching the attention of the room, all turned to look at him bar Wendy who ran towards Lucy and began to hug her. She felt more tears well up as she held onto Wendy tight. This girl was like her little sister, and that's when Lucy knew this guild would stick by her even when she emitted so much darkness and looked the way she did.

"We now know who Natsu is and know that we will stick by him but his identity stays in this room, am I clear? We can't have this getting out to the council or dark guilds, or even some of the other guilds." Master spoke, everyone nodded, tears began to dry up but the room began to feel tense.

With that out the way the room quietened before a loud bang signified the arrival of Porlyusica.
"What now, I don't want to be here too long!"

"Oh my Lucy" she gasped moving towards her. Lucy could see her face etched in worry, if anyone could figure out what was wrong with her it would be Porlyusica.

"I'm going to take a look at Lucy separately, is she needed in here any longer?" Porlyusica asked master.

"Lucy, did Zeref tell you any more of what was planned?" Lucy shook her head, all he had done was warn her. Which would actually be helpful, but this is probably all a game to Zeref, he's immortal.

"And don't worry we will find a way to help Natsu avoid this curse and connection to Zeref, go heal my child." He continued.

"ZEREF!" Porlyusica shouted, before being shhhh'd by everyone in the room, keen to keep the volume between the walls and within the meeting.

"I want to hear everything after Makarov" and with that she led Lucy out of the room.

Now separated from the others they made their way down the corridor and into the medical area. Lucy sat on the bed ready for Porlyusica to give her a look over, but she just sat beside her.

"Lucy. I'm so sorry I will examine you but I wanted to warn you prior that I don't think I can do anything about this. Maybe prevent your death if you do not tamper with the book further, but I think the pain will be something you may have to live with." The saddened tone was reflected on her features.

"It's okay, I knew what some of the consequences could be getting into this. I accept what I've done for the sake of why I've done it, master will fill you in I'm sure." She spoke up, confidence partly covering up the dread she felt hearing that. In this much pain, forever.

Yeah she could deal day to day, but missions and using magic. Trying to experience everything. She knew what could happen but the disappointment hearing that it was permanent left a bitter taste in her mouth.
