❈ Percy wanted to throw himself out of the van.
The van was dead silent.
Mark was very obviously glaring holes into the side of the daughter of Athena's head. Annabeth was clearly ignoring Percy and he was to much of a wuss to start a conversation with his girlfriends favourite brother.
Also, he needed to get his feelings together before he talked to Mark.
Argus didn't talk so he didn't count, although Percy was so desperate for conversation that he tried striking up conversation with him.
It earned him several odd looks and bruised his tiny little ego.
Annabeth looked off, as if she'd slept even worse than he did.
"Bad dreams?" Percy asked at last. Please answer. Please answer. Please answer.
She shook her head. "An Iris-message from Eurytion."
Thank gods, conversation. Percy could cry.
"Is something wrong with Nico?"
"He left the ranch last night, heading back into the maze."
"What? Didn't Eurytion try to stop him?"
"Nico was gone before he woke up. Orthus tracked his scent as far as the cattle grid. Eurytion said he'd been hearing Nico talk to himself the last few nights. Only now he thinks Nico was talking with the ghost again, Minos."
"Minos?" Mark cuts in. "That doesn't sound good, isn't he one of the judges of the dead."
Percy nods. "He's in danger."
"No kidding. Minos is one of the judges of the dead and he's got a vicious streak. I don't know what he wants with Nico, but -" Annabeth answers Percy while narrowing her gaze at Mark. How did he know that?
"If you're going to ask how I know Minos is a judge of the dead," Mark said, still glaring at Annabeth. "It's pretty much common knowledge in the Ares cabin. You do know Ares is considered a god of the underworld to some degree, don't you? Or did your little wisdom filled brain decide to ignore that?"
Annabeth scowled.
"That's not what I meant," Percy said quickly. He really didn't want those two to get into a fight. "I had this dream last night..." He told them about Luke, how he'd mentioned Quintus, and how his men had found two half- bloods alone in the maze.
"Could you see who they found?" Mark straightened, Percy shook his head. "One of them could be Hels."
Annabeth's jaw clenched. "That's very, very bad."
"So what do we do?" Percy asks them.
"Stick to the plan," Mark said. "Let's hope your mist defying mortal can see her way through all this bullshit."

The trio thanked Argus before turning around.
"Hels lives here?" Mark asks Percy.
"Yeah, down the hallway to mine."
Percy knocked on his apartment door and waited. No answer. That was weird.
