How did Nico find himself in this situation?
That's a good question, unfortunately he doesn't think he has a good answer.
One second he's shadow travelling to his big sister Helena's apartment for his weekly dinners and the next thing he knows, he's being kidnapped.
Helena could just ask Nico to do anything and he would go along and do it; no questions asked, so that caused him to realise that this was probably another one of Ethan's stupid ideas—the kidnapping part anyway.
"Where are we going?" he questions Helena and Ethan. "Also, which one of you is driving?"
"You'll find out when we get there," Ethan answers. "and I am."
"Oh no," Nico said. "We are all going to die."
"What did you just say you little shit!"
"We are all going to die! You're a terrible driver!"
"I am an excellent driver!"
"I can assure you, you aren't."
"YES, I AM!"
"NO, YOU AREN'T!"
Helena sighs, pinching the bridge of her nose and mutters a prayer: "Jesus, take the wheel."
Both boys turn to look at her.
"Why would you want a dead person to take the wheel?"
"Did you just pray to Jesus? Bitch we demigods, our parents are literally gods."
Helena goes to scold both of them but her eyes widen.
"Ethan, watch out!" she screeches, pointing to the car in front of them.
Ethan slams to breaks; they all lurch forward aggressively before the car stops. He laughs.
"Well, that could have gone horribly wrong," Ethan snorts. "Thanks, Hel."
"I'm going to throw up," Helena mumbled, her hand falling from where it had shot out to keep Nico from flying out the windscreen.
"I told you we were going to die," Nico said. "Why does nobody listen to me? I'm literally the son of the king of the underworld; one would think that means something."
"We didn't die, did we, though?" Ethan argues. "I saved us."
"Helly, saved us."
"Pfft, no. I slammed the brakes."
"You wouldn't need to slam the breaks if you were paying attention, stupid."
"Listen here, you little piece of shit," Ethan turned to fully face Nico. "If you don't shut the fuck up, I'm going to climb over this fucking console and strangle you."
"Can we not do this here?" Helena said, trying to stop the ongoing argument. "And they are ignoring me. Awesome."
Nico snorts. "I would like to see you try."
