THE TRANSITION FROM 2023 TO 2024 WAS SOMETHING MANON WAS BOTH NERVOUS AND EXCITED FOR. She sat on a field with all her friends and some family.
Her arms were wrapped around her knees as she and everyone else waited for the fireworks to start. It was a nice change from the loud parties that were usually held. It was peaceful and she liked it.
Sam sat beside her, an arm around her waist as her head rested on his shoulder.
Gracie sat by herself - but she clearly enjoyed it - as there was a happy smile on her face.
Aurelie and Colby sat together with Travis and Taylor on the other side of them.
"I like how quiet it is," Manon spoke up. "It's really peaceful."
"It is, isn't it?" Sam agreed, hugging her tighter. Snow decorated the ground around the group, hence why underneath them was a massive blanket Taylor had brought.
"There's a minute left!" Gracie called, looking at her watch.
"We joining in on the stereotypes?" Sam asked, looking down at Manon's beanie-covered head.
"I assumed we were."
