chapter 76

MANON SAT ON THE COUCH OF HER HOME, watching as Aurelie set up her laptop to play something on the tv.

"Okay, so," Aurelie straightened and smiled. "I took a bit of example from loverboy."

"Aurelie, I swear to god."

"Oh shut up, Manon, let me speak. Anyway, for Colby's birthday a bit ago he got everyone to film a video. And well...I did the same thing! So, we got this made and here we go!"

She pressed play and stepped away, sitting next to Colby.

First was Taylor. "Hi, Manon! You're twenty-seven and wow, I can't believe it! You're an amazing person, and I'm so glad we met. I love you!"

Manon send a heart in her hands to Taylor who was sitting with Travis as Colby came up.

Next came Maddy, then Aurelie and then Gracie. Finally, it was Sam's turn.

"Manon...where do I even start? I'm so glad the fans led us together because without it I wouldn't have you.

Totally an invisible string, Taylor mouthed to Manon. She nodded.

She'd told Taylor about another new song, one she called Invisible String.

"You're so smart, kind, beautiful. You always find a way for me to be amazed. Manon, I love you!"

By the time he was finished, tears were streaming down her cheeks. She wiped her eyes and smiled. "I love you too, I love you too."

As she was sitting next to him, she curled up close to him and wrapped her arms around him. He held her and pressed a kiss to the top of her head.

"Okay, now that it's done," Aurelie ran to the kitchen and Colby followed, flicking off the lights. Manon laughed as she pulled away, watching as Aurelie and Colby came back with a cake.

They sang happy birthday and placed it in front of Manon. "Make a wish!" Maddy yelled.

For things to say like this forever, Manon thought as she blew out the candles.

And maybe it would.
