[ Third person pov ]
The hallway was buzzing with all sorts of reactions to the news. Some were happy, some curious, some doubtful and the list continues. Misun sat with her study group, but the last thing on their mind was studying and the only thing on her mind was her neighbour. She had to find out the winner through spoilers and that sucks as hell, it wasn't the same as the real thrill and to top things up, her favourite didn't mind and would have to battle all over again to even get a shot at winning.
"Ah, my mom was really skeptical and said I might stop coming to school," a voice resonated from the back and sighs of envy followed suit.
"I wish I could stop coming, too."
The government had sent specialists down to the meteorite, to inspect if it posed any threat. But it wasn't a space rock, it was some sort of alien spaceship with an odd structure. All its hatches were open, leaving the townsfolk unaware of what to expect.
"You guys are really being negative," An auburn haired scoffed. "Right, Mi?"
Misun grip on her pen tightened each fatalistic thought that crossed her mind. The voices of her study-mates chatting off soon faded and the only thing she could hear was the wall clock ticking. A chilling silence that only she could hear.
And then the voices echoing in her head. 'Kill him, he deserves it and more,' Just like a serpent, it slither smoothly, filling her with gloom-ridden words. 'Hang his lungs for birds to eat.'
"Misun!"
The black haired looked up, the ticking clock gone and so was the voice, Misun was met with the confused faces of her classmates. "What?" she hummed, pushing her book aside.
"We've been talking to you for a while now?"
"Are you sure you're feeling okay?"
Misun's brows creased when the girls around her bodies were morphing into oddly shaped beings, their skin tones changing into vibrant colours. Their words were now gibberish, grunts and groans, some with multiple eyes. Even the air wobbled, now hot and unbearable.
"I... I'll be right back-" Misun got up, leaving the room in a haste. She sprinted down the hall, towards the restroom. Her friends were genuinely perplexed.
She quickly turned the tap on, gazing at the running water before splashing some on her face to relax.
"It's okay, I'm fine," she breathed softly, her eyes shut nimbly. This is why she tried not to get too angry, it always left a crack on the glass, tampering with the fiend locked away.
And it was all his fault.
He overdid it this time. Misun couldn't afford any slip up, it would result in her powers being exposed to the public and that's just bad.
She couldn't risk it, Seungmin had to go.
